Essential Job Duties:
  • Monitors assigned awards and performs regular financial and administrative analyses.

  • Completes financial reports, such as the SF-425, to be sent to sponsors as required by award terms.

  • Verifies the accuracy of award setups, modifications, and budget information in Kuali Research and Financial systems.

  • Consults with Principal Investigators regarding improper account findings, such as unallowable costs or negative balances.

  • Acts as an administrative resource to ensure compliance with institution policies and OMB 2 CFR 200 regulations from award notice to closeout.

  • Ensures that financial closeouts are completed in a timely manner.

  • Serves as a financial liaison between the University and outside federal, state, local, and private agencies.

  • Responds to inquiries in a timely manner using effective interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills.

  • Communicates guidance to Principal Investigators to prevent out-of-balance budgets or compliance situations.

  • Contributes to the ongoing improvement of workflows, business processes, and policies.

  • Attends meetings and professional development sessions to keep current on policies relevant to the position.

Conditions of Employment

This position is eligible to be a 100% remote position.

Supervision

This position does not have any direct reports.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree and in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma (or GED) plus 6 years of post-award grant management/grant accounting experience will be accepted.

Minimum Experience

2 years of post-award grant management/grant accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and advise on federal, state, and sponsoring agency’s rules, regulations, policies regarding sponsored projects.

  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA)
