This Financial Research Administrator primarily focused on Post-Award Financial Grant Administration, involving the monitoring of awards, financial analysis, and the assurance of compliance with regulations such as OMB 2 CFR 200 from the notice of award through to closeout. In this capacity, the employee verifies budget accuracy in Kuali Research, completes required sponsor reports, and consults with Principal Investigators regarding improper account findings like unallowable costs. The role serves as a liaison between the University and external agencies while proactively communicating guidance to prevent budget and compliance issues.

Essential Job Duties:Monitors assigned awards and performs regular financial and administrative analyses.
Completes financial reports, such as the SF-425, to be sent to sponsors as required by award terms.
Verifies the accuracy of award setups, modifications, and budget information in Kuali Research and Financial systems.
Consults with Principal Investigators regarding improper account findings, such as unallowable costs or negative balances.
Acts as an administrative resource to ensure compliance with institution policies and OMB 2 CFR 200 regulations from award notice to closeout.
Ensures that financial closeouts are completed in a timely manner.
Serves as a financial liaison between the University and outside federal, state, local, and private agencies.
Responds to inquiries in a timely manner using effective interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills.
Communicates guidance to Principal Investigators to prevent out-of-balance budgets or compliance situations.
Contributes to the ongoing improvement of workflows, business processes, and policies.
Attends meetings and professional development sessions to keep current on policies relevant to the position.
This position is eligible to be a 100% remote position.
SupervisionThis position does not have any direct reports.
Minimum EducationBachelor’s degree and in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma (or GED) plus 6 years of post-award grant management/grant accounting experience will be accepted.
Minimum Experience2 years of post-award grant management/grant accounting experience.
Preferred QualificationsAbility to comprehend, interpret, and advise on federal, state, and sponsoring agency’s rules, regulations, policies regarding sponsored projects.
Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA)
