About Lendable

Lendable is on a mission to build the world's best technology to help people get credit and save money. We're building one of the world’s leading fintech companies and are off to a strong start:

  • One of the UK’s most exciting unicorns with a team of over 800 people

  • Among the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK

  • Profitable since 2017

  • Backed by top investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs

  • Loved by customers with the best reviews in the market (4.9 across 10,000s of reviews on Trustpilot)

So far, we’ve rebuilt the Big Three consumer finance products from scratch: loans, credit cards and car finance. We get money into our customers’ hands in minutes instead of days.

We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do: we’re going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions worth of financial products are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes.

Join us if you want to
  1. Take ownership: you are trusted to make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1

  2. Work in small teams of exceptional people: Lendies are relentlessly resourceful. We challenge the status quo to solve problems and find smarter solutions

  3. Build the best technology in-house: we use new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated, experienced Financial Crimes Program Manager to be a key contributor for our BSA/AML program. You’ll be responsible for the daily execution of the FinCrime compliance framework for our U.S. personal loans and cards products as both products scale. You will investigate suspected financial crime and ensure strict adherence to the Program Policy across our bank-partnership model.

This is a critical operational role within the compliance team. You will be responsible for ensuring we protect the financial system from money laundering and terrorist financing through diligent alert disposition, maintenance of accurate case records, and effective and timely escalation.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Execute the BSA/AML Program Execute day-to-day AML, BSA, KYC/CIP, and OFAC controls and assist in maintaining program documentation to ensure the business remains compliant.

    • Keep policies, procedures, and program documentation current;

    • Conduct periodic BSA/AML risk assessments;

    • Enhance the program as products evolve to stay aligned with contractual and regulatory requirements.

  • Execute reporting responsibilities: Own periodic and ad hoc BSA/AML reporting across partner bank and internal stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and on-time delivery.

    • Partner Bank: 314(a) and OFAC reporting & required periodic reporting

    • Internal: Periodic senior leadership reporting and quarterly Board report on program performance, key risk indicators, escalations, and emerging risks

  • Support audit and testing requests related to FinCrime: Respond to audit & exam requests, testing and monitoring, and bank partner requests; be a cooperative and responsive teammate to support overall compliance functionality

  • Investigate and Document Activity: Investigate alerts & escalations related to unusual activity; prepare internal Unusual Activity Reports (UARs) for escalation to the BSA Officer for final review.

  • Perform Screening & Monitoring: Perform sanctions-screening and AML transaction-monitoring alerts; execute assigned screening and information-sharing searches.

  • Maintain Compliance Records: Ensure all investigative findings and due diligence records are maintained in accordance with the Program’s record retention requirements.

  • Identify areas of Improvement: bring an attitude of opportunity - issue spot and execute areas for automation to ensure the financial crimes program scales with company growth

  • Operational Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Product and Engineering teams to provide operational support for the integration and testing of onboarding and transaction monitoring tools.

  • Flex into front-line queues - support the team during backlog clearance and peak volume.

What We’re Looking For

Essential
  • U.S. Regulatory Expertise: Deep knowledge of the U.S. rules-based regulatory scheme, specifically BSA, AML, KYC/CIP, and OFAC. (Familiarity with FCPA/ABC is a significant plus).

  • Compliance Function Experience: Proven experience in a compliance function, particularly in alert disposition, case management, and investigative workflows.

  • Analytical Mindset: You are comfortable diving into data to investigate alerts and identify suspicious patterns. You are detail-oriented in documenting your investigative findings.

  • Bias for Action: You have a genuine sense of curiosity and urgency with the ability to navigate the ambiguity of a fast-growing FinTech and make smart, risk-based decisions.

  • Strong Communication: Ability to hold your own with bank partners and regulators, while also influencing internal stakeholders in Product and Ops.

Desirable
  • Product Specificity: Experience in both U.S. Personal Loans (pre-origination focus) and Credit Cards (post-origination transaction monitoring).

  • Tool Proficiency: Experience with Alloy, ComplyAdvantage, Marqeta, Preset, Snowflake or Redash a plus.

Life at Lendable
  • Winning team: the opportunity to scale up one of the world’s most successful fintech companies

  • Flexible working: flexible approach tailored to each role. Hybrid roles require three days in-office weekly; fully remote roles include regular opportunities for in-person connection through socials and off-sites

  • Socials & connection: opportunities and events to come together, socialise, and get to know each other beyond the office walls

  • Health coverage: support for your physical and mental wellbeing, including private health cover

  • Retirement & savings: long-term financial wellbeing through retirement savings plans

  • Employee referral programme: earn a competitive bonus when you refer successful new team members

  • Office meals & snacks: enjoy a fully stocked kitchen, plus complimentary lunches prepared by in-house chefs on in-office days at select locations
