The Role:
We are seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to serve as single point of contact and owner of the facilities needs including but not limited to providing services necessary for proper physical operation of manufacturing facilities including areas where contract services may be provided. Typical functions include providing engineering support and troubleshooting for the following: building equipment and property maintenance, utility supply and environmental activities. Work is performed in a components plant where creativity and initiative is exercised as well as independent judgment.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Providing technical direction to and oversight of resident Business Partners and outside contractors ensuring safe work practices are utilized to complete their work.
Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of facilities equipment and tools required in plants in support of production of high-quality parts.
• Interface with regulatory agencies and municipalities.
• Support maintenance and production on continuous project from the Plant Engineering discipline.
• Support launch of new programs from equipment design to release to production.
• Bid & establish installation contract installation contract.
• Procure construction management resources.
• Manage scope changes through installation.
• Lead and support energy conservation activities.
• Maintain open communication between plant and sustainable workplace.
• Drive strategic and analytical planning to optimize building and facility services.
• Provide technical direction to outside vendors.
• Improve facilities owned equipment uptime.
• Manage contractors through debug and release to production.
• Sound knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade.
• Dependable appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on time.
• Consistently shows innovative thinking that is customer centric.
• Support plant safety initiative.
• Lead WSS or PS as it relates to safety systems.
• Available to work alternative shift schedules, including weekends & holidays.
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
• College degree with major in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with facilities operations.
• Able to read and work from blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of facilities operations, central air compressor, various other central support equipment.
