Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Migration Engineer with strong expertise in VMware, Windows Server, and Microsoft Azure to support large-scale datacenter and cloud migrations, including P2V, V2V, and DR strategies. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), and core Windows infrastructure services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and server builds.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform P2V (Physical to Virtual), V2V, and on-prem to cloud (Azure) migrations.
  • Lead and execute Azure Migrate projects including discovery, assessment, planning, and migration.
  • Implement Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions using Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
  • Configure and manage VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter for migration activities.
  • Build, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Servers (2008–2022) including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, File/Print Services.
  • Troubleshoot core Windows Server features and services during and post-migration.
  • Conduct application and dependency mapping for migration readiness.
  • Collaborate with networking, storage, and application teams for smooth migration cutovers.
  • Create and maintain runbooks, rollback procedures, and post-migration validation checklists.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and support to operational teams post-migration.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server builds and administration, including:
    • Active Directory (AD) design and setup
    • DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
    • File/Print services
  • Proven experience with Azure Migrate and Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
  • Expertise in P2V, V2V, and cloud workload migrations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows OS, networking, and VMware platforms.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and validation tasks.
  • Understanding of backup, storage, and network integration in VMware and Azure.

Nice to Have (Preferred):

  • Experience with application-level migration (SQL, IIS, line-of-business apps).
  • Knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, Subnets, NSGs, ExpressRoute, VPNs).
  • Familiarity with Azure governance, RBAC, and cost optimization.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, VCP, Windows Server, VMware Migration Specialist).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis ability.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in cutover windows (nights/weekends) when needed.
  • Collaborative, flexible, and able to work in cross-functional migration teams.
