Job Description

Position Summary  

The Experience Manager is responsible for creating, incubating, selling, planning, and executing private and public experiences on and off the mountain across the winter and summer seasons, in partnership with the Experience Director. This role is highly client-facing, leading sales calls and meetings with both internal teams and prospective clients to bring new experiences to life. The Experience Manager also provides hands-on, on-site management of event experiences and staff, ensuring seamless execution and a high-quality experience for every attendee. Success in this role requires close collaboration across departments throughout the organization, from sales and operations to marketing and mountain teams, to deliver experiences that are both innovative and flawlessly executed. This position reports to the Director of Client Experience. 

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities 

  • Work with Director of Experiences to ideate, curate, deliver and incubate world-class experiences across Aspen One  
  • Serve as a key connector across Aspen One, partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Hospitality Operations and Mountain Operations to align experiences with broader company goals and ensure consistent, on-brand execution. 
  • Identify market trends and drive innovation for new experiences across Aspen One  
  • Give attention to every detail around event planning and execution, from guest greeting to exceptional standards for service and aesthetic on site.   
  • Sell experiences for Aspen One across all channels (email/phone/in person), proactively prospecting new business and building a pipeline of private and corporate clients. Provide timely follow-up with guests and convert leads into sales with confidence, meeting or exceeding revenue targets.  
  • Create a warm, welcoming environment and build personalized relationships with guests, using names and preferences to deliver tailored service 
  • Partner with the Director of Experiences to bring new experiences to life, from concept and planning through execution — collaborating cross-functionally with partners, brands and marketing teams at every stage 
  • Client management, providing tailored offerings based on guests needs from creation through execution and follow up, as necessary.
  • Work with Director of Experiences to hire staff to execute experiences  
  • On-site management of staff during event and experience execution  
  • Hosting, assisting and collaborating with our key partners and brands such as LVMH, Burgess and many others.  
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key Aspen Skiing Company and Aspen Hospitality personnel to facilitate effective communication and execution with the following departments - Product Sales & Services, Hospitality Operations, Ski and Snowboard Schools, Rental/Retail, Administration, Guest Services, Online Services, Events & Partnerships and Mountain Operations  
  • Share feedback with management regarding products and procedures to enhance the guest experience and immediately address opportunities  
  • Possess intimate knowledge of local mountain terrain, snow conditions, and department programming to make accurate and appealing recommendations 
  • Understand the department’s budget and operate within it while analyzing trends from daily financial snapshots, historical reports and forecasts  
  • Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand  
  • Other duties as assigned  

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements 

  • College degree preferred  
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a role responsible for delivering a high level of guest service required  
  • At least 2 years of experience working events required  
  • Sales experience preferred  
  • Managerial experience in an event setting preferred (servers, kitchen staff, drivers, etc.) 
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Office Suite required  
  • Bi-lingual preferred

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to communicate proficiently verbally in English and Spanish is preferred 
  • Knowledge of customer preferences and how to meet or exceed them  
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Powerpoint 
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines  
  • Demonstrated active listening and interpersonal skills used to personalize the guest experience 
  • Ability to build relationships with clients while anticipating and exceeding their needs and troubleshooting issues in a timely, calm and professional manner  
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment  
  • Ability to act professional in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail  
  • Skilled in creating exceptional guest experiences through personalized service and attention to detail 
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in processes, customer flow, environments, and tasks  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality  
  • Ability to manage and lead diverse teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment  
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively, empowering teams while maintaining accountability 
  • Ability to assess team performance, provide feedback, and implement development plans  
  • Proficient knowledge of industry regulations and how they affect business operations   
  • Skills in managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders  

Additional Information

Work environment & physical demands: 

  • Ability to stand, type, and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executive repetitive movements 
  • No adverse or hazardous conditions 
  • Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance
