The EV Battery Development Engineer will oversee battery performance testing, improve testing processes, and collaborate on product design solutions, ensuring readiness and efficiency during the development phase.
Description
Own a portion of the battery performance development plan. Follow development test unit through build process - support setup, instrumentation, and debugging to assure test readiness. Conduct/direct testing and evaluate performance in the areas of thermal, environmental, electronics & wireless communication, safety & abuse, and vibration. Track test progress and report on issues. Develop and implement first-time capable tests for hardware and software development. Diagnose and resolve issues that occur during setup and testing. Actively participate in Product Development Teams and work with Technical Experts to improve current tests and develop new tests. Utilize and create post processing tools to assure data quality and track usefulness of data in generation of final reports. Develop and implement standard work processes and procedures globally. Interact with facilities, technical leads, calibration teams, hardware release engineers, and others to improve process and test efficiency. Support math-based activities, migrating additional work from Road and Lab to Math based models and data analysis. Work closely with members of design and analysis communities to develop product design solutions. Hybrid position: work from home and from the office address.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science or a related Engineering degree, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related. Experience must include: Two (2) years of experience problem-solving and planning projects; experience with mechatronics and electro-mechanical systems; experience with written and verbal communications; and experience in data acquisition and analysis to optimize testing or model results.
