General Purpose

The Enterprise Operations Risk Analyst administers risk management and loss prevention programs to maintain maximum protection for the Bank. Helps to identify, evaluate, and monitor enterprise risks while driving risk awareness and mitigation efforts throughout the bank. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Leads development and enhancement of risk governance frameworks aligned with Federal Reserve SR 15-18/19 and SR 11-7 guidance.
  • Implements enterprise control self-testing and issues management frameworks improving control validation consistency across critical banking operations.
  • Develops board and executive risk reporting packages supporting oversight of operational, compliance, market, liquidity, credit, and strategic risk categories.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to strengthen model risk management, AI governance, and third-party operational risk oversight initiatives.
  • Partners cross-functionally with compliance, audit, legal, and business leaders to support operational resilience and regulatory readiness.
  • Contributes to the development of and evolution of risk metrics for the bank. 
  • Creates, maintains, and enhances reports to key stakeholders. 
  • Supports best practices in modeling and model risk management.
  • Supports the transformation of information into key business insights. 
  • Queries, aggregates, and manipulates large datasets for various analysis. 
  • Conducts regular assessments to identify emerging operational risks, leveraging internal and external sources to benchmark industry standards. 
  • Monitors the effectiveness of the enterprise risk management framework and manage on-going risk assessment process.
  • Develops integrated risk management analytical tools, conduct quantitative risk assessments, scenario analyses, stress testing, and other strategic modeling initiatives to evaluate potential threats and opportunities.
  • Provides oversight and critical challenge of the identification, assessment, monitoring, mitigation, and reporting of all significant risks throughout the business. 
  • Prepares, reviews, and presents clear, well supported risk options, reports, and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Interacts with external members of professional organizations to remain aware of changing or emerging risks and proactively bring key information to team for consideration in continuous monitoring or other oversight activities.
  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risk. May include establishing risk management procedures and processes to ensure adherence to policies.
  • Responsible for supporting the achievement of an organization’s objectives by addressing the full spectrum of its risks and managing the combined impact of those risks as an interrelated risk portfolio.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Ability to make independent decisions and solid judgement.    
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present risk concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to translate technical risk data into clear, actionable reports for senior management.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial and fraud schemes, transaction lifecycles, and identity theft.
  • Ability to conduct transactional analysis and manipulate data
  • Ability to tactfully work with co-workers, internal customers and management.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise risk management principles, corporate governance, and industry-specific risks.
  • Knowledge with risk management platforms, data visualization tools, and advanced excel.
  • Knowledge of Personal Computer (PC) skills, including Word and Outlook.  
  • Understanding of banking security related regulations, policies and procedures and the ability to analyze account characteristics to assess potential risk.

Education or Formal Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or other discipline required.
  • Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP) required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver’s License required.

Experience:

  • Four (4) years of experience in risk management, audit, or a related area.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.

Working Conditions

Working Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. After successful training in the role, the role may allow for a hybrid schedule to include remote and in-office work but may change at management discretion. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and multifunction printers. Travel to conferences, meetings and branch locations may be required on occasion.  

Physical Activities:

These are representative of those which must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Good eyesight and hand/finger dexterity are required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to remain calm and professional with intense conversations. Employee may have to lift up to 25 pounds.

Starting Rate of Pay is from $65,000.00 to $105,000.00, depending on experience.
