The Engineering Manager will lead a team to develop high-quality ecommerce systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and guide engineers through technical challenges and career development.
Denver, CO - We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our team in building an exceptional ecommerce experience for our customers. You'll be managing a dedicated team of engineers but also getting hands-on with coding to break ground and reduce barriers for the team, guiding engineers toward outcomes that impact customer satisfaction and drive revenue.
Working closely with product, design, and other stakeholders, you'll help shape our approach to building features and lead your team through the execution. Your engineers will rely on you for technical guidance, career development support, and understanding how their work drives business results.
This role suits someone equally excited about clean architecture and conversion metrics. You'll make technical tradeoffs based on business realities and be measured on both system performance and how your decisions support company growth.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead an engineering team to deliver high-quality, performant systems that drive business growth
- Collaborate with product and design to refine concepts, estimate work, and prioritize features
- Architect scalable solutions for our platform including web applications, APIs, and services
- Build exceptional user experiences using React and modern frontend technologies
- Work with stakeholders to understand and maximize Engineering impact to the wider organization
- Manage and develop team members via code reviews, mentoring, and technical design sessions
- Stay current with industry trends to identify opportunities for new products and platform improvements
- Maintain robust testing suites and deployment processes
- Continuously improve engineering tools, workflows, and developer experience
Qualifications
- 5+ years building software with Agile methodologies
- Experience with our tech stack, which includes React, TypeScript, Node.js, MySQL, PHP, AWS, Redis
- Experience with Gatsby, Redux, OAuth, and RESTful APIs, and Serverless Framework is a bonus
- Proven ability to use monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Ecommerce experience required; Adobe Commerce/Magento a plus
- Management or technical leadership experience
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
