Position OverviewReporting directly to the Technical Services Engineering Director, this is a visionary leadership role designed to drive the future of Technical Services - Digital Smart Building Programs for a key client. This position manages the development, implementation, and application of emerging technologies while overseeing critical engineering programs and strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will be an innovative go-getter with a bias for action, acting as a subject matter expert in engineering services, strategic asset planning, performance management, and executive presence.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategic Program ManagementBMS Connectivity & Control: Lead the effective management of Building Operating Systems (BOS) programs around BMS Connectivity, establishing robust monitoring and control capabilities using BMS controllers and client networks.
Operational Support & Security Compliance: Develop a comprehensive operational support model and process to manage strict security compliance to BOS requirements, including end-to-end BOS and IoT Asset management.
FDD Implementation: Design, develop, and implement a Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) solution to enable energy usage efficiencies and predictive maintenance capabilities.
Technical Subject Matter Expertise: Lead the BOS IoT team in providing technical guidance for scope and design evaluations, BOS compliance, and operational issue resolution across Network, BMS, and IoT systems. Support key Technical Services programs, including Labs facility planning, Sustainability Operations, Business Continuity, and Life Cycle Asset Management.
Trusted Advisor: Serve as the primary client point of contact, key trusted advisor, and partner for Technical Services.
Program Status & Reporting: Maintain absolute and precise oversight of all programs, keeping on top of all milestones and proactively providing succinct, high-impact summaries of program health and status directly to the client.
Project Tracking & Delivery: Establish a comprehensive process to track project status and enable the on-time delivery of all project deliverables.
Client Satisfaction: Ensure exceptional client satisfaction by providing a seamless interface and demonstrating strong leadership, responsiveness, and creativity.
Presentations & Influence: Develop and deliver compelling presentations that demonstrate value-add solutions through Technical Services, using strong technology and communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly.
Team Leadership: Manage, build, and develop a high-performing engineering team of 4 or more direct reports.
Growth & Succession: Create and implement comprehensive staff succession, professional growth, and performance development plans.
Resource Planning: Develop an effective team resource (RASCI) plan to ensure robust program coverage and balanced resource loading.
Education & Experience: Undergraduate degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related field. Alternatively, a combination of technical certifications and 10+ years of experience (e.g., Navy Nuclear experience and certifications) is highly acceptable.
Industry Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in Network/Controls engineering and cyber-security requirements, and Facilities (MEP) engineering and operations management.
Advanced knowledge and experience in management and operation of Advanced Logic (ALC) controllers is required.
Leadership: Demonstrated leadership ability in managing a team of subject matter experts in driving multi-regional large scale BOS IoT programs. Effective change management skills.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to convey complex ideas in a concise, summarized, and professional manner.
Tools: High proficiency with Corrigo CMMS, Google Tools, and executive-level presentation development.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent.
Specializations: Building Management Systems (BMS), and network-connected devices (IoT).
Location: Chicago, NYC, Boston, Atlanta, Austin, LA, Seattle (hybrid role combining on-site presence and remote work, near a client location).
Travel: Up to 25%

Estimated compensation for this position:
145,300.00 – 191,080.00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
