Job Description:

We are looking for an Engineer to join our Secure Products Group (SPG) in Colorado Springs, CO. This position will have a primary focus on New Product Development(NPD) and sustaining engineering for Microchip's SPG. The ideal candidate will think critically and strategically, communicate effectively, be influencing, have strong problem solving and technical skills, and be able to learn, utilize, or implement new methods, processes, and equipment.

The Product Engineer is a key part of the Product Development team closely collaborating with cross functional groups that include Product Design, Test Engineering, Quality, Failure Analysis, Yield Enhancement Engineering as well as others in order to deliver high quality Security Products to the market. Microchip’s Secure Products Group develops and supports a line of cryptographic hardware products for Automotive, IOT, Medical, Consumer, and Industrial markets.


Duties Include but are not limited to the following:
  • Prepare overall project, characterization, and qualification plans

  • Validate and characterize silicon

  • Participate in new product development teams and track project progress from project kick-off to release to production

  • Analyze and report data

  • Ensure devices are manufacturable and are setup correctly in the production system

  • Debug problems in an organized and efficient manner

  • Team lead in root cause analysis and problem solving efforts

  • Perform other job related tasks as instructed by the manager.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BSEE or MSEE with 0 to 2 years of industry experience

  • Excellent analytical and debugging skills and the ability to proactively resolve issues

  • Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and documentation skills

  • Excellent problem solving, debugging and organization skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • General knowledge of Statistics

  • Must be highly motivated and able to work in a collaborative group environment

Physical Requirements:

Monday - Friday 8 hours/day, 20% standing (max 2 hours), 10% walking (max 2 hours), 70% sitting, 100% inside.

We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. Benefits of working at Microchip

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $75,000 - $85,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
