Job Responsibilities:
Summary: The Quality Assurance Engineer will ensure proper quality of product by knowing customer specific requirements and implement quality improvements as identified.
Job Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned and required.
Develop/approve gauging for new programs or gage revisions to existing programs. Performs audits as required. Responsible for preparation of Control Plans, and inspection instructions/check sheet as required. Provide assistance and support as a member of the APQP team of Magna Body & Chassis Iowa. Responsible for PPAP sample submissions. Schedule CMM and coordinate gage calibration system. Promote and practice our "safety first" policy by addressing any hazards, defective equipment or unsafe situations immediately. Keep the department leader advised of conditions within the work area. Report gage, tool or other equipment problems to the department leader. Notify the department leader whenever tasks or scheduled work cannot be completed as planned. Recommend and encourage others to recommend proposals for improving products, processes, systems, productivity and work environment (Continual Improvement Process). Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and help develop this attitude throughout the company. Treat all associates with dignity and respect. Follow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa's and Magna's operating principles Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering preferred or
- One to three years' experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to do trigonometric functions, geometry, and basic math
- Ability to read blue prints
- Intermediate computer skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
