Responsibilities:
Energy Management System (EnMS) Implementation guidance:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the ISO 50001 Energy Management System.
- Ensure the EnMS aligns with the organization’s energy policies, objectives, and environmental goals.
- Develop and maintain energy performance indicators (EPIs) to monitor energy usage.
Energy Audits & Analysis:
- Conduct energy audits and assessments to identify areas for energy savings and efficiency improvements.
- Analyze energy consumption data and recommend corrective actions for underperforming areas.
- Benchmark energy performance against industry standards and best practices.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with relevant energy regulations, legislation, and ISO 50001 standards.
- Prepare and submit energy reports to regulatory authorities and stakeholders.
- Maintain records of energy performance and audit results.
Training & Awareness:
- Develop training and awareness programs to educate employees on energy-saving practices and the importance of energy management.
- Promote a culture of energy efficiency across all departments and levels of the organization.
Energy Performance Monitoring:
- Continuously monitor energy performance metrics and ensure that energy-saving targets are met.
- Implement corrective actions to improve energy efficiency and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure energy management goals are integrated into other organizational processes.
Project Management:
- Manage and oversee energy efficiency projects from initiation through to completion, including budgeting, procurement, and performance tracking.
- Identify and implement energy-saving technologies, processes, and best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with senior management to align energy management goals with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as energy suppliers, consultants, and contractors, to improve energy performance.
Sustainability Initiatives:
- Contribute to sustainability programs and initiatives related to energy use, waste reduction, and carbon footprint reduction.
- Support the organization in achieving its sustainability targets and certifications.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in energy management, sustainability, or environmental management, with a focus on ISO 50001 implementation.
- Strong understanding of energy management principles, energy efficiency technologies, and ISO 50001 standards. Familiarity with energy audit processes, renewable energy systems, and energy-saving practices is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in energy monitoring software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- ISO 50001 Lead Auditor or Lead Implementer certification preferred.
- Experience with energy-related regulatory requirements and sustainability reporting preferred.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and smart metering systems preferred.
Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Energy Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- A certification in ISO 50001 or Energy Management (e.g., CEM, Certified Energy Manager) is highly preferred.
Working Environment:
- Full-time, with potential travel to multiple locations for audits, training, and project implementation.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required depending on project deadlines.
- 25% travel
