ABOUT THE TEAM
Basis’s IT team manages the technical solutions that allow each Beep to do their job. This team oversees a mid-sized, modern, secure network of over 900 clients running primarily Windows 10, with a dose of MacOS for good measure. Window Server and CentOS rule the server landscape. No matter the issue, this dedicated team provides Raving Fan service for all problems big and small. While their days are sometimes unpredictable, their commitment to learning and educating one another on our increasingly complex network remains constant cross-functional collaboration.
WAYS YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
This position is responsible for ownership of our client environment, creating tested deployments of Windows 10/11 and macOS for our Dell and MacBook laptops. With input from our help desk team, you’ll create efficiencies to deploy common software, drivers, and settings using tools such as SCCM, Intune, JAMF, and your solid knowledge of scripting. Working closely with the rest of the admin team, you’ll ensure our SCCM and JAMF environments are maintained and updated using best practices. You continuously stay current on the latest tech trends and quickly deploy zero-day patches to our clients when our security is at risk, using reporting and metrics to ensure compliance. You will contribute by:
- Utilizing SCCM and JAMF for client OS deployment, patching, package creation, and reporting
- Scripting via PowerShell, Bash, and other languages to automate settings, installations, and other repetitive or difficult tasks
- Maintaining our SCCM and JAMF environments, including regular cleanup of old packages, WSUS maintenance, installation of latest patches, and other routine maintenance
- Recommending and implementing deployment efficiencies in our hybrid work environment, such as migrating processes to the cloud via InTune and Autopilot where appropriate
- Diagnosing problems and perform root cause analysis through troubleshooting skills, logic, research, and testing
- Staying current with technology and bringing new ideas to the team
- Maintaining existing documentation and create new documentation as required
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Min 2 years of experience with desktop management and automation technologies or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, etc
- Min 2 years of experience in a corporate IT environment or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, etc
- Experience with AD, Group Policy, O365, and SCCM
- Basic network troubleshooting experience with familiarity of VLANs, VPN, and PXE booting
- Working experience with SCCM, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Office 365/Azure/Intune
- Working experience with JAMF and macOS administration
- Thoughtful approach to collaboration, design, and decision-making that prioritizes equity, access, and continuous learning.
