  • Drive build readiness, ensuring PCBs, components, manufacturing data, tooling and test equipment are available when required, including early identification of long-lead items.
  • Support DFM/DFA reviews and ensure manufacturing and supplier feedback is incorporated before design release.
  • Support early board builds at CEMs, driving manufacturing, component and test issues through root cause to resolution.
  • Work with Engineering and Test teams to define manufacturing test strategies, test coverage, firmware, fixtures and equipment.
  • Maintain clear alignment between Engineering and manufacturing partners on build status, risks, priorities and actions.
  • Maintain key NPI documentation, including assembly instructions, build/test reports, board traceability and engineering changes.
  • Support procurement, RFQs, material planning, manufacturing costs and delivery of engineering hardware.
  • Capture lessons learned and drive improvements to manufacturing processes, build quality and future build readiness.
  • Travel to CEM/manufacturing locations to support board builds and test activities as required.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience introducing complex electronic PCB assemblies through PCB fabricators, CEMs/contract manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of PCB fabrication, SMT assembly, electronic components and manufacturing quality processes.
  • Experience with prototype build planning, BOM/material management and manufacturing execution.
  • Good understanding of DFM, DFA, DFT and board-level manufacturing test.
  • Experience developing or deploying manufacturing test strategies, fixtures, test systems or instrumentation.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple teams and suppliers against programme commitments.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to clearly communicate status, risks and actions at all levels.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment and driving issues to resolution.

Advantageous Skills and Experience
  • Experience with high-speed digital, compute or server platforms.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards and electronics manufacturing quality requirements.
  • Experience with JTAG/boundary scan, functional or automated board test.
  • Experience with automation and test instrumentation using LabVIEW, Python, PLCs or similar technologies.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 Why or FMEA.
  • Experience with SiliconExpert or similar BOM/component lifecycle management tools.
  • Technical programme/project management experience within electronics, compute or server development.
  • Experience with manufacturing budgets, RFQs and supplier quotations.
