The Electrical Program Manager (Master Electrician) will serve as the named license holder on PES’s contractor license and will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the company’s electrical program. This role ensures compliance with all electrical codes and licensing requirements while creating a scalable program that supports operational excellence, workforce development, and safe execution of electrical scopes across PES projects. The position will be based out of the PES Houston office, with travel required approximately one week per month or as project needs dictate.

Key Responsibilities

Licensing & Compliance

  • Serve as the designated Master Electrician on PES’s contractor license.
  • Acquire and maintain active Master Electrician licenses in every state where PES currently performs work or secures future projects.
  • Ensure company-wide compliance with federal, state, and local electrical codes, permitting, and licensing regulations.
  • Oversee inspections, audits, and interface with regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and jurisdictional requirements.

Program Development

  • Develop, implement, and maintain PES’s electrical program, including standards, procedures, QA/QC, and best practices for all electrical work.
  • Establish training, apprenticeship, and certification paths for PES electricians.
  • Create and maintain documentation for safety, compliance, and operational processes.

Project Oversight

  • Provide technical expertise and oversight for electrical scopes on PES projects.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance and constructability.
  • Support project managers and site managers with troubleshooting, design clarifications, and problem resolution.
  • Participate in project planning, estimating, and resource allocation for electrical work.

Leadership & Training

  • Mentor electricians, foremen, and supervisors in PES’s standards and electrical code compliance.
  • Track and verify apprentice and journeyman hours.
  • Lead continuing education, skills development, and safety programs for the electrical workforce.
  • Conduct periodic site visits and audits to verify compliance and performance.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and development of licensed electricians to sustain growth.

Qualifications

  • Active Master Electrician license in Texas and ability to acquire/maintain Master Electrician licenses in all states where PES performs or secures projects.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical construction, with emphasis on industrial, utility, or power generation projects.
  • Direct experience with Power Generation and Industrial New Construction, gas turbines, switchgear, substations, and high-voltage systems preferred.
  • Proven ability to build and manage electrical safety, compliance, and training programs.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and local/state code requirements.
  • Effective leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and construction management software (Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
  • Based in Houston, TX, with the ability to travel approximately one week per month (or more as project needs require).
