About the company

Our client is a hardware and software technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Design, build and validate electronic hardware for devices that operate unattended outdoors. Spend time both in the lab and in the field, strengthening designs so they are dependable and ready for larger production volumes. Work alongside firmware, operations and software colleagues.

What you'll do

- Take circuit boards from first schematic through layout, prototyping, production handoff and real-world use.

- Debug and verify designs at the lab bench using oscilloscopes, bench power supplies and similar instruments.

- Make devices more dependable and easier to produce as the number of installed units grows, within strict energy constraints.

- Write low-level code in C/C++ or Python to bring up boards and run verification checks.

- Coordinate with firmware, operations and software teammates on shared goals.

- Travel about once a quarter to support on-site installations and calibration.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- At least 2 years of experience building physical electronic products.

- A background in a small, fast-moving team where you handled a wide range of hardware responsibilities.

- A track record of seeing a board design through to a manufactured, working product.

- Strong PCB layout skills in Altium or a comparable design tool.

- Working knowledge of C/C++ or Python for device firmware and automated testing.

- A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering.

- Independent problem solving, including tracing root causes and recommending fixes without close direction.

- Comfort with ambiguity and enthusiasm for hands-on testing outside the lab.

- Based in Denver or willing to relocate, and able to work on-site 4-5 days per week.

- US work authorization.

Bonus points

- Exposure to products used in demanding environments away from controlled facilities.

- Familiarity with energy systems, including batteries and power conversion.

Benefits

Compensation and benefits

- Base salary: USD 140,000 to 180,000 per year

- Equity

- Flexible work schedule

- Relocation support

- Travel reimbursement

Location and work model

- Denver, CO, United States
