As an Electrical Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will contribute to the design and development of innovative electrical systems and components that meet high standards of quality and reliability. You will apply your expertise in electrical engineering principles and utilize design tools to develop and optimize electrical designs for critical industrial applications.
You will report directly to our engineering management team and you’ll work out of our Arvada, CO location on an on-site work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the creation of reliable and efficient electrical designs that support critical industrial applications, ensuring product performance and customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and optimize electrical designs for components and systems using industry-standard design tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define electrical requirements and ensure design feasibility and compliance with standards.
- Perform electrical analysis and testing to validate design performance, safety, and reliability.
- Study project specification / documents and develop the Bills of Material for control system / instrumentation / JB / cables / LOP / MMS Panel etc.
- Candidate should be able to read and Interpret the P&ID. Assists in the development of P&ID's and associated I/O.
- Candidates need to provide correct inputs for CAD Designer to generate various panel drawings such as PLC Panel, MMS Panel, Local operating panel.
- Assists in control systems designs and in the development of control system networks.
- Review and understand Project requirements and support in procurement of Control System, Instrumentation and Electrical items.
- Prepare RFQs for sub-suppliers. Review & Finalize sub-supplier quotations.
- Handle equipment such as: Unit Control Panels, PLC, Local Operator Panel, Variable Frequency Drive, Electrical Motors, Anti-surge and performance control system, Machine monitoring and protection system (Bentley Nevada) Instruments, etc.
- Selection of instruments (transmitter, gauges) for the centrifugal compressor, Pump packages.
- Effectively plan, schedule, manage & report on multiple projects with various deadlines & responsibilities levels
Occasional Site or Customer visits, FAT support.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- 3+ years of experience in electrical design and development
- Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and electrical systems integration
- Experience with electrical components selection, wiring standards, and compliance with industry safety regulations
- Working knowledge with Microsoft office, AutoCAD, MS-Visio
WE VALUE
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Basic understanding of the IEC, ATEX, ISA, UL codes
- Basic knowledge of Control System, Instrumentation and Electrical machines
- Basic knowledge of Communications networks
- Experience in industrial automation or rotating equipment electrical design
- Familiarity with rotating machinery such as Pumps & Compressors
- Functional knowledge of Unit Control Panels, PLC, Local Operator Panel, Variable Frequency Drive,
- Electrical Motors, Anti-surge and performance control system, Machine monitoring and protection system (Bentley Nevada) Instruments, JBs, etc.
- Ability to read and understand Control system and Electrical drawings
- Ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in electrical design and safety
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly
The annual base salary range for this position is $86,100 - $107,550. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
