At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward – always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.

The Role

About Kyndryl Consult

Kyndryl Consult is the advisory and solutions engine driving enterprise transformation across our global business. Within our Cloud Capability practice, we partner with industry leaders to design, architect, and deliver secure, future-ready multi-cloud and hybrid cloud platforms that run mission-critical environments. Our teams solve complex technical challenges with vendor-agnostic precision, modern architectural patterns, and continuous innovation.

As Director of Technical Solutioning, you will serve as a senior architectural authority and pre-sales pursuit leader. You will take ownership of end-to-end cloud solutions, bridging strategic business needs with modernized, resilient technical designs centered on Amazon Web Services (AWS) alongside leading multi-cloud platforms.

Operating primarily in a pre-deal consultative environment, you will collaborate directly with Go-To-Market leaders and sales teams to qualify opportunities, shape bids, and lead executive discussions. This remote role is aligned to Boulder, Colorado, with 50% to 70% client-facing travel dedicated to high-impact enterprise and public sector engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture and Technical Solutioning

  • Design end-to-end multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures with a deep focus on AWS modernization frameworks, reference patterns, and secure landing zones.

  • Create differentiated technical solutions that solve complex customer challenges across infrastructure, platform automation, containers, and managed services.

  • Evaluate technical risks, establish mitigation plans, and ensure solutions meet strict high-availability, resilience, and disaster recovery standards.

  • Embed platform engineering practices, infrastructure as code automation, and FinOps cost optimization into core solution architectures.

Client Engagement and Advisory Leadership

  • Build trusted relationships with client CIOs, CTOs, and line-of-business executives, articulating technical vision through clear business storytelling.

  • Lead architectural workshops, deep-dive reviews, and competitive solution defense sessions with enterprise and public sector decision-makers.

  • Guide cloud solution strategy for US Federal and government opportunities, addressing specialized regulatory environments and procurement milestones.

  • Spend 50% to 70% of your time in direct, face-to-face customer engagements, typically guiding one to three major pursuits simultaneously.

Pursuit Leadership and Commercial Growth

  • Partner closely with Go-To-Market leaders and sales executives to qualify new pursuits early and safeguard margin integrity.

  • Direct RFP and RFI responses, crafting comprehensive technical narratives, solution scopes, and deliverable commitments.

  • Develop realistic cost cases, financial models, and Total Contract Value estimates to secure deliverability and profitability.

  • Support contract negotiations and deal structuring through formal signing, ensuring an accurate handoff to delivery teams.

Cross-Functional Team Leadership and Mentorship

  • Guide matrixed pursuit teams composed of cloud architects, engineers, pricing specialists, and delivery consultants.

  • Mentor and develop technical architecture talent, strengthening skills in modern cloud platforms and consultative solution selling.

  • Partner with hyperscaler alliance teams and practice colleagues to build reusable architectural assets and accelerate pursuit velocity.

Equally important, you lead with a growth mindset, constantly pursuing new skills and cloud capabilities.
