Where Data Does More. Join the Snowflake team.

Enterprises are modernizing data platforms and processes at a growing rate to meet the demands of their customers and internal stakeholders for innovation, particularly with the rise of Generative AI. As the leading platform for AI and BI, Snowflake customers can take advantage of a wide range of capabilities designed to drive business insight and value. The Snowflake Solution Engineering organization is leading this effort for our customers.

As the Director of the Solution Engineering organization, you will be responsible for leading a team of industry technical architects driving strategic customer engagements and building prescriptive architecture and frameworks to drive customer adoption of the Snowflake AI Data Cloud. You will partner closely with Sales, GTM, Solution Engineering, Engineering, and Marketing teams to help Snowflake customers transform their businesses with the AI Data Cloud.

This role requires a unique blend of technical leadership, creative problem solving, and the ability to guide customers from persona-driven use cases to business outcomes. The ideal leader will foster a culture of innovation, co-creation, and thought leadership with our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Field Engineering Leadership
  • Drive strategic customer and partner engagements in partnership with Sales, Solution Engineering, and Industry GTM teams.

  • Build repeatable reference architectures and frameworks to accelerate well-architected deployments.

  • Evolve engagements from technology discussions to line-of-business and persona-driven use cases, ensuring customer conversations are anchored in business outcomes.

  • Lead workshops and co-creation sessions with customers, applying human-centric design and design thinking methodologies to unlock innovation.

  • Guide customers through an end-to-end journey framework — from persona → journey → architecture → measurable outcomes.

  • Drive the creation of hands-on solution showcases, including demos, videos, applications, and AI agentic experiences that inspire customers and make outcomes tangible.

  • Provide thought leadership on the AI Data Cloud across both internal and external forums.

  • Develop and scale repeatable engagement models such as reference architectures, design-led workshops, and industry blueprints.

  • Act as escalation point for customers, sales teams, and product leadership.

  • Influence product roadmaps by serving as the Voice of the Field to product and engineering teams.

  • Drive operational excellence with KPIs, compensation plans, and execution models.

  • Collaborate with EMEA and APJ counterparts on best practices and approaches.

People Management
  • Build and lead a team of world-class industry technical architects who serve as industry experts and trusted advisors.

  • Create career development plans, coaching processes, and other activities to build a high-performing team.

  • Act as a player/coach working with your team on building reference architectures, solutions, and driving complex strategic customer engagements with line-of-business leaders, CDOs, CTOs, and enterprise architects.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and co-solutioning with customers, encouraging the team to think beyond infrastructure into business design outcomes.

  • Develop the team’s storytelling, facilitation, and design skills to bring customer persona journeys to life.

  • Champion the development of solution showcases as a core competency of the team, empowering architects to create innovative demonstrations that resonate with customers.

ON DAY ONE WE WILL EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:
  • 20+ years of industry experience in Data & AI engineering or technical solutioning, including 8+ years in a leadership role managing and mentoring high-performing teams (hiring, training, and retaining top talent).

  • Strong domain expertise in areas such as Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, AI/ML, Generative AI, Cloud Computing, and SaaS solutions.

  • Proven track record of working across organizations to build common engineering infrastructure, processes, and world-class reference architectures.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations to both technical and executive stakeholders — whether on a whiteboard, through live demos, or formal presentations.

  • Demonstrated expertise in human-centric design, design thinking, or innovation frameworks — running workshops, co-creation sessions, or persona-based solutioning.

  • Ability to translate complex technology into simple, persona-driven narratives that inspire customers to envision new possibilities.

  • Experience driving thought leadership — building repeatable playbooks, reference architectures, and industry narratives that scale innovation across customers and teams.

  • Proven success in developing and delivering solution showcases (e.g., demos, applications, videos, AI-driven experiences) that bring technology and customer outcomes to life.
