Clocktower is building out the sales function for its Strategy, Research & Advisory business. The Director of Sales is a senior, client-facing seat, ideally based in a major financial hub. You will own new business for the offering and bring your own relationships with hedge funds and allocators from day one.

About the Role
- Business development. Originate and lead new business with senior decision-makers (CIOs, strategists, heads of research, portfolio managers), with support from our strategists, the CEO, and the wider Clocktower team.
- Client coverage. Cover existing clients and onboard new ones, keep accounts engaged with the strategists, and lead renewals and upgrades.
- Events. Bring the right prospects and clients to Clocktower conferences and dinners globally, and follow up afterward.
- Fundraising. Support capital raising across Clocktower’s business lines.
- Experience in institutional sales, investor relations, or research sales, with a demonstrated network across hedge funds and allocators (CIOs, heads of research, portfolio managers, sovereign wealth funds, pensions, family offices).
- A record of closing. You have sold research, advisory, or investment products to sophisticated institutional buyers and can point to the relationships and the revenue.
- A genuine interest in markets and macro. You’ll be representing our strategists’ views to senior investors and need to hold your own in the conversation.
- Strong written and verbal communication. Clear and direct.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly.
- Direct exposure to senior global investors. Our clients include sovereign wealth funds, pensions, endowments, large asset managers, and global macro hedge funds. You’ll speak and meet with them regularly.
- Connectivity. You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with our strategists and business development teams, with support from our hedge fund team.
- Runway. You are building a sales function alongside a research team that is actively publishing and already has paying clients.
- Growth path. Build the book first, with the opportunity to build a team around it as the business scales.
