Department/Unit Summary 
The Director of Risk plays a key role in coordinating multiple facets of the overall risk management process. They manage risk identification, avoidance, and mitigation by collaborating with all levels of leadership, provider, front end staff and other stakeholders. They manage the evolving needs of active litigation cases to include investigations, interviews, depositions, gathering of legal hold records and other needs as determined by legal counsel. They are responsible for training leaders, providers and various hospital staff on the risk management program and reporting of incidents. Responsible for the overall risk management program of the hospital and affiliated clinics. They also serve as the Compliance and Ethics Officer for the facility.

Qualifications and requirements 
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. MSN, Healthcare Administration, and MBA strongly preferred.  Additional requirements include:
•    BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.
•    Prior acute healthcare risk management experience is preferred and can substitute for the leadership experience.
•    Must have at least five years’ experience in Nursing with at least three years as a Director/Manager.
•    Experience working in a for-profit hospital strongly preferred. Previous Director level experience preferred.
