The Role

Acquia is hiring a Director of Product Marketing to own the go-to-market strategy and commercial success of Acquia Source, our digital command center for digital experiences. Acquia Source is the most important bet on our roadmap, and we need a leader to drive the GTM for our solution end to end.

This is not a role for someone who wants a tidy brief and a long ramp. The product is evolving fast, the market is moving faster, and the buyer (marketing, IT, security, and the C-suite all at once) is recalibrating what they expect from a DXP in an AI-first world. We need a leader who can walk into ambiguity, find the through-line, and get the company moving in the same direction within weeks, not quarters.

You will own the narrative, the launch motion, the sales enablement, and the commercial outcomes for Acquia Source end to end. You will not wait to be told what to do. You will see the gap, jump in, own it, and bring the rest of the org with you.

What You'll Own
  • GTM Strategy for Acquia Source. Own the end-to-end GTM for our solution, including the command center, Acquia AI, and Source CMS. Define the ICP, the buyer journey, and the routing logic across every conversation a seller will be in (AI invisibility, CMS displacement, Drupal ecosystem, security-led, agency-driven, expansion). Make it crystal clear which conversation a seller is in and what to do next.
  • Narrative and Positioning. Sharpen, defend, and evolve the Acquia Source positioning ("Build faster. Manage less. Trust every experience."). Make sure the three value pillars (Speed, Scale, Confidence) land with every audience, in every asset, in every channel. Translate a complex platform story into something a CMO, a CISO, and a CFO each understand inside of 30 seconds.
  • Launch and Release Leadership. Drive the launch motion for Acquia Source as it rolls out to Source CMS, Cloud Platform, and DAM customers through 2026, and the ongoing release cadence for Acquia AI. Build a repeatable launch playbook the rest of PMM can run against.
  • Sales and Partner Enablement. Equip global sales, SEs, CSMs, and partners to win. Own the pitch deck, the discovery framework, the scope diagnosis questions, the talk tracks, and the training that goes with them. Measure whether the field can actually run the motion and fix it where they can't.
  • Outcomes and Measurement (the bar of the role). This is how the work is judged. Define what success looks like in numbers (pipeline sourced, pipeline influenced, win rate by motion, time to close, attach rate of Acquia AI, sales enablement adoption, asset performance) and instrument it from day one. Publish a weekly update to leadership and the cross-functional team on where the numbers are, what moved them, and what changes you are making this week as a result. Reporting is the easy part. The expectation is action: kill what is not working, double down on what is, and reset the plan when the data tells you to.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership. Pull product, sales, demand gen, content, brand, CS, and partner teams onto the same page and the same timeline. You will not have direct authority over most of these teams. You will earn the right to move them through clarity, credibility, and momentum.
  • PMM Peer Collaboration. Collaboration with the other PMM leads is critical. The Acquia portfolio story only works if Source connects cleanly to what your peers own. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with them on shared narrative, joint launches, overlapping personas, and customer expansion motions. You make your peers' work better, and you expect the same in return.
  • Win/Loss and Competitive (consume and go deeper). A member of the PMM team will deliver win/loss reports and competitive updates on a regular cadence. You will consume them, but you will not stop there. You are expected to dive deeper on the deals and competitors that matter most to Acquia Source, talk directly to sellers and customers, and translate what you learn into changes in positioning, enablement, and the GTM motion. Pass-through reading is not the job. Acting on the signal is.
  • Demand and Content Partnership. Partner with demand gen and content to translate the GTM for our solution into campaigns that generate pipeline, with assets (web, blog, paid, email, video, customer story) that map to the right conversation and the right buyer.
  • Pricing and Packaging Input. Partner with product and finance on pricing and packaging decisions for Acquia Source, Acquia AI usage, and the on-ramps (Source CMS, Cloud Platform, DAM). Make the commercial model easy to sell and easy to buy.
Who You Are
  • You have a bias for action. You would rather ship a v1 this week and iterate than ship a v3 next quarter. You don't wait for the perfect brief. You write the brief.
  • You simplify. You take big, messy, multi-stakeholder problems and turn them into a one-page narrative the entire company can rally around. If a seller, a CMO, and a CFO can't repeat the message back to you, you haven't finished the work.
  • You live in the outcomes. You measure yourself in pipeline, win rate, and adoption, not in assets shipped. You see a number moving the wrong way and your first instinct is to change something this week, not study it for a month.
  • You thrive in ambiguity. Org changes, shifting roadmaps, half-formed inputs, competing priorities: none of it slows you down. You bring order without waiting for someone else to bring it first.
  • You run fast and bring people with you. Speed without alignment creates whiplash. You move quickly and you over-communicate, loop in the right people early, and make it easy for sales, product, and marketing to keep up. People want to be on your launches because they know what's expected and they know it will land.
  • You own it. Once it's yours, it's yours. No "that's a product problem" or "that's a sales problem." You see the gap, you close it, and you figure out the org chart later.
  • You are a strong peer. You make the PMMs around you better. You share what's working, you ask for help when you need it, and you do not optimize your own surface area at the expense of the portfolio.
  • You are strong. You will get pushback from product, from sales, from leadership, from customers. You take the input that makes the work better and you hold the line on the things that matter. You are direct, you are kind, and you do not flinch.
What You'll Bring
  • 8+ years of product marketing experience, with meaningful time in B2B SaaS or enterprise software. Director-level scope (owning a product line end to end) is required.
  • A track record of launching and scaling complex platform or AI products into enterprise buyers, with proof points you can point to: pipeline generated, win rate moved, sales motion changed.
  • A demonstrated operating cadence built around weekly metrics review, fast iteration, and visible decision-making. You can show us examples of a number you moved, what you changed, and how fast.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across product, sales, marketing, and CS in a fast-moving org. Bonus if you've done it through a re-platforming, a rebrand, or a category shift.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication. You can write the narrative, build the deck, and deliver the pitch yourself.
  • Deep comfort with the modern DXP, CMS, MarTech, or AI infrastructure landscape. You understand why AEO/GEO matters, why governed AI is a buying criterion, and why open architecture is a credibility play with IT.
  • A data instinct. You use quant and qual to decide where to invest, and you are honest with yourself when the data says to change course.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience marketing AI-native or AI-augmented enterprise products, especially with a human-in-the-loop governance story.
  • Background in DXP, CMS, DAM, or content infrastructure (Drupal ecosystem experience is a plus, not a requirement).
  • Experience building GTM motions that span multiple personas (marketing + IT + security + C-suite) inside the same deal.
  • Experience driving expansion motions into an existing enterprise customer base.
Why This Role
  • Impact. You will own the GTM for the most important product on Acquia's roadmap. The work you ship will be visible to the CEO, the board, and the field every week.
  • Scope. Product, narrative, enablement, launch, measurement. You touch all of it. You are not handed a sliver of the GTM and told to optimize it.
  • Pace. We are moving fast, on purpose. If you have been waiting for a role where you can finally run, this is it.
  • Team. A PMM org that hires for ownership and rewards people who raise the bar. A product team that ships. A sales org that wants enablement that actually works. Leadership that gets out of your way.
Compensation, Benefits, and Logistics

Competitive base and bonus, equity, comprehensive health benefits, generous PTO, and a flexible remote-first work environment. This role reports into the VP of Product Marketing.
