Summary:

The Director, FP&A leads forecasting, planning, reporting, and financial analysis for the EPC business and corporate functions across the Americas, including the U.S. and Canada. Serving as the primary finance partner to the Chief Operating Officer, this role works closely with the Senior Director, FP&A, the CFO, and business leaders to translate project, construction, and corporate performance into actionable insights. The Director strengthens forecasting and reporting, informs budgeting and resource allocation, and supports strategic decisions that advance the company’s financial and operational objectives and profitable growth.

This role will be hybrid requiring a minimum of 3 days in office.

Requirements:

  • Leads forecasting, budgeting, month-end reporting, and variance analysis for the EPC business and corporate functions, managing the monthly FP&A cycle from input collection through executive reporting.
  • Owns consolidated FP&A for the Americas, including EPC, Development, and Corporate results; the consolidated monthly cash flow forecast; OPEX (SG&A and indirect COGS), CAPEX (including F&E), and DevEx reporting; and Group reporting cadence, standards, and submissions.
  • Acts on behalf of the Senior Director, FP&A in engagements with the CFO, COO, and Group Finance, as needed.
  • Maintains FP&A quality controls and reporting standards — enforcing a single source of truth per metric and ensuring results are accurate, reconciled, traceable to source, free of hardcoded figures, and clearly explained before executive and Group review.
  • Challenges Accounting and Project Controls when actuals do not reconcile to expectations — for example, a POC margin movement is decomposed, not accepted.
  • Drives accountability across budget owners, Project Controls, Accounting, and the IFS/data team for input quality and timeliness — defining required templates and checks, confirming owners and ETAs, and escalating slippage.
  • Defines the coming year’s reporting structure (SG&A and indirect-COGS cost centers, F&E charging, and allocations) during planning, implements it with Accounting, and holds it fixed for the year.
  • Partners with EPC project, construction, and operations teams to improve project cost forecasts, cash flow projections, margin analysis, and percentage-of-completion reporting.
  • Develops and maintains integrated financial and cash flow models to support forecasting, scenario analysis, liquidity planning, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making.
  • Delivers executive-level analysis and performance reporting, translating business results, key drivers, material variances, and methodology changes into clear recommendations — pre-briefing leadership ahead of reviews so there are no surprises.
  • Builds trusted partnerships with business and functional leaders to standardize FP&A processes, improve forecast accuracy, and strengthen reporting and analytics.
  • Attends work regularly and complies with the Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Safety:

  • Leads by example with a safety- and quality-oriented attitude, reinforcing that safety is the most important function.
  • Continually reinforces safe behaviors and corrects “at-risk” behaviors.
  • Adheres to, and ensures team members understand, standard operating procedures.

Leadership:

  • Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation, and exceeding expectations.
  • Leads and develops the EPC FP&A team (one or more direct reports), holding it to the FP&A Team Standard — assessing capability, coaching, and managing performance.
  • Participates in hiring and selection process to fill positions on the team.
  • Communicates regularly with direct reports on goals, accomplishments, and information on policies.
  • Demonstrates leadership and expertise in eyes of client group.
  • Employee Development:
  • Provides tasks and assignments that challenge and stretch employees’ responsibilities.
  • Conducts regular discussions with employee(s) on personal development. Comfortable with empowering others.
  • Conducts timely, effective performance reviews in accordance with RES guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Related Major is required.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) highly preferred.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certifications preferred.
  • 8+ years of Financial Planning and Analysis in a corporate or growth company environment required.
  • 5+ years of EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) industry background required.
  • 3+ years in Renewables construction industry experience highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work under tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Influences effectively across organizational levels and translates complex financial information into clear executive-level insights, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Proactively leads initiatives from start to finish, prioritizing areas of greatest risk and escalating significant issues promptly.
  • Demonstrates advanced financial analysis and integrated three-statement modeling skills, including the ability to identify business drivers and evaluate scenarios.
  • Brings substantial experience analyzing EPC, construction, or other project-based financials, including cost forecasting, cash flow, margin analysis, and percentage-of-completion (POC) revenue recognition.
  • Demonstrates strong cash flow modeling capabilities, including construction cash flow forecasting, liquidity analysis, and working capital planning.
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel, proficient in PowerPoint, and able to learn and use enterprise ERP, planning, and other financial systems.
  • Understands industry trends, competitive dynamics, and the impact of internal and external factors on business planning and execution.
  • Combines strong attention to detail with the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources and communicate a clear financial narrative that informs decisions.
  • Collaborates effectively, builds trusted partnerships, operates with urgency, anticipates rather than reacts, and communicates risks and unfavorable developments candidly to senior leadership.
  • Uses AI and productivity tools (Claude, CoPilot) responsibly to improve analysis, modeling, reporting, and automation while protecting confidential data and validating outputs.
  • Functional competencies include accountability, building strategic partnerships, collaboration, attention to detail and continuous improvement.
  • Domestic and International travel 5-15% required.
