Overview
The company and the role
- Rimkus is a fast growing global organization on a mission to become the worldwide leader in engineering and technical consulting. Our Marketing team drives brand leadership and demand generation across our three Business Groups: Forensics, Built Environment Solutions, and Life Sciences, and across geographies: North America, EMEA, and APAC.
- We are seeking a forward thinking Director, Digital Marketing – a builder, not someone who will manage a mature digital program, but rather someone who will create one. This is a hands-on, roll-up-your sleeves type of leadership role for a digital marketer who is energized, not overwhelmed, by the pace of change in AI-powered marketing.
- You will oversee all owned digital platforms, including Rimkus.com, marketing automation, email, social, paid media - and drive how these platforms work together to strengthen our brand presence, accelerate pipeline, and deliver personalized, AI driven digital experiences.
- This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and partners closely with other Marketing leaders, with IT, Revenue Operations, and our website dev agency.
The Salary Range for this position is $162,600 - $244,000 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate
- You’re the kind of marketer who tests a new AI tool before reading the case study about it. You build prototypes, not just roadmaps. You’re as comfortable inside a marketing automation workflow as you are in a strategy presentation to senior leadership.
- You’ve probably been working at a Senior Manager level and are now ready to own a function end-to-end, stepping into a Director-level role. Or maybe you’re already at the Director level and you want to build something modern and inspirational rather than maintain something that already exists.
- You don’t just delegate to agencies – you roll up your sleeves, experiment, and implement alongside them. You could set up a marketing automation workflow, configure a chatbot prototype, or troubleshoot a Google Ads campaign yourself if needed.
- You’ve shipped AI-powered features or programs in production, not just discussed them in strategy decks. Interesting examples could include AI-driven website, personalization, AI-powered lead filtering / qualification predictive analytics for campaign optimization, or AI-assisted content workflows.
- You think in systems: how the website, CRM, marketing automation, paid media, and analytics all connect – and you can work with IT and RevOps to make those connections.
Four Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Digital Platform Strategy & Hands-on Leadership
- Develop and execute an integrated digital platform strategy across owned channels (Rimkus.com, marketing automation, email, social) that strengthens brand visibility, engagement, and lead generation
- Lead, mentor, and grow the Digital Marketing team (currently 3 people +1 TBH)
- Manage agency partners, setting direction while staying close to the work and make real-time decisions
- Collaborate with Marketing leadership (esp. Business Group / Regional Marketing Leaders), IT, and RevOps to ensure digital initiatives are technically sound, scalable, and aligned to global business priorities
2. Web & Owned Experience (Rimkus.com) + AEO/SEO/UX/CRO
- Own the vision, roadmap, governance, and performance of Rimkus.com (and microsites)
- Drive innovation initiatives, including AI-powered expert search, AI-assisted lead qualification and form-submission intelligence, and real-time website personalization. You will be the product owner for these features—defining requirements, managing the build (with engineering support and/or agency support), and measuring success
- Oversee AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), SEO, UX, and conversion optimization to maximize traffic and conversion in both traditional and AI-powered search
- Establish dashboards and analytics frameworks to track and optimize performance
3. Paid Media (Core Ownership) & Digital Acquisition
- Own end-to-end paid media strategy, execution, and performance accountability, driving qualified demand and measurable pipeline impact
- Lead Google and LinkedIn Ads programs, including audience strategy (driven by competing requirements from Business Groups), campaign design, creative/asset alignment, landing page coordination, and ongoing optimization
- Own budgets, forecasting, and ROI/pipeline attribution; partner with RevOps on KPIs and reporting, manage agency/vendor partners, and run test-and-learn experimentation to improve efficiency and lead quality
4. Marketing Automation, Data Integration & AI-Enabled Optimization
- Partner with RevOps to maintain a single source of truth for contact/lead/customer data, implementing best practices across the Rimkus digital ecosystem
- Oversee and grow the marketing automation platform to enable advanced segmentation, scalable campaign management, and dynamic personalization across lifecycle programs
- Lead AI-enabled optimization across digital channels by piloting emerging tools/workflows (e.g., personalization, chatbots, predictive analytics, maybe even creative automation) and driving KPI discipline and rapid test-and-learn experimentation
Desired Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience Level: 6–10 years in digital marketing with progressive responsibility. What matters is that you’ve personally built and optimized digital programs, including AI-powered components (not just managed teams who did), and are excited about figuring out what can be done differently today.
- Digital Leadership: Demonstrated success leading and transforming digital platforms, web performance optimization, and integrated campaign execution across channels.
- Data & Performance Orientation: Proven ability to define KPIs, build dashboards, and drive data-informed decisions, experimentation, and continuous optimization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience partnering effectively with IT and Revenue Operations to ensure scalable integrations, data governance, and platform reliability.
- Technical/Marketing Skills: Working knowledge of marketing automation, CRM/attribution concepts, web analytics, AEO/SEO fundamentals, UX/CRO best practices, and privacy/data compliance considerations
- Tools and platforms: familiarity with tools like Ahrefs / Similarweb / Mouseflow / Google Analytics; Jasper, Mailchimp, Sprout Social, Hubspot and Profound would be a plus.
Impact of the role
- The Director, Digital Marketing will play a pivotal role in shaping the next era of Rimkus’ digital presence. This is a career-accelerating transformational opportunity to build and scale a modern, AI-first digital ecosystem that improves how clients discover, engage with, and experience Rimkus.
- This leader’s work will directly accelerate pipeline generation, elevate the Rimkus brand globally, and deliver intelligent, personalized digital experiences that set new standards in our industry.
- If you thrive on building what doesn’t yet exist, across platforms, data, and AI, this role offers the chance to make an immediate impact and help define the digital future of a global company.
