📍Location

We’re fully remote and welcome candidates from anywhere in the US! We have all-company offsites a few times a year where we fly the whole team out to meet in person, build stronger relationships, kick off important projects, and have fun!

💼 Job Summary

We’re looking for a Director of Content to lead Cortex’s content marketing strategy and execution. In this role, you’ll own the development of our content across all major channels, including our blog, social media, podcasts, and external speaking engagements. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining our editorial calendar, shaping our brand voice, and ensuring Cortex shows up consistently and credibly in front of technical audiences.

💻 Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the Cortex content strategy, spanning blog, social, lifecycle campaigns, and internal storytelling
  • Lead our internal content development efforts including cross-functional stakeholders and external contractors
  • Translate complex product capabilities and technical workflows into clear, compelling content
  • Work with Product, Engineering, and Customer teams to spotlight new features, customer wins, and use cases
  • Ghostwrite for company leadership and Cortex subject matter experts across external channels
  • Maintain a strong editorial calendar that reflects company priorities and drives brand awareness
  • Collaborate with Design to bring content to life visually across channels
  • Uphold Cortex’s brand voice and tone, and ensure consistency across all touchpoints
  • Measure and iterate on content performance to optimize for reach and engagement

✔️Qualifications 

  • 4–6+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial, or technical writing — ideally in developer tools, infrastructure, or productivity software
  • A strong portfolio of writing that demonstrates clarity, technical fluency, and editorial range
  • Experience creating content across formats: blogs, social posts, emails, product updates, etc.
  • Ability to quickly learn and distill technical concepts for a range of audiences
  • Comfortable interviewing engineers, customers, and teammates to inform content
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Self-starter mindset with a bias toward ownership and execution

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The base pay for this role starts between $198,000 and $230,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for equity and benefits.
