Gartner is seeking a Director Analyst for our CIO and AI Leader group to serve as a strategic thought leader for the future of technology implementation and operations. In this role, you won’t just track trends—you will define the playbook for how CIOs, from the world's largest companies, newest startups, and innovative governments, secure and modernize their enterprises through the lens of AI and data-driven transformation. Leveraging over 10+ years of technology executive experience and passion for learning, you will transform complex shifts in technologies, practices, and markets into actionable insights, mentoring global leaders and commanding the stage as a definitive voice in the industry.
About the role:
As a Director Analyst in Gartner’s Business CIO & AI Leaders group, you will serve as a global thought leader within Business & Technology Insights. In this role, you will help CIOs and tech executives from around the world securely architect technology, data, and AI for modernization and innovation. Leveraging deep analytical and strong communications skills, you will produce essential research and directly counsel clients through written content, executive briefings, and Gartner conferences to solve mission-critical enterprise challenges.
What you will do:
Be an industry thought leader
Build credibility as an expert representing Gartner Business and Technology Insights on topics such as application modernization, integration of AI into operations, and platform implementation
Drive the global conversation platforms and application modernization through Gartner and the media
Conduct insightful research
Track global market trends related to core industries, relevant vendors, emerging technologies, and best practices
Actively participate in ideation, cohort discussions to establish strong positions on technical topics that impact CIOs
Lead qualitative and quantitative studies to establish thought-provoking insights for our C-level clients
Identify research process improvements or develop new processes that help the team and the Business and Technology Insights group excel in delivering client value
Create thought provoking content for clients
Deliver high-quality, actionable advice to an executive client audience, CIOs, AI Leaders, and Technology Executives, through a variety of media.
Write evidence-based content that is easily consumed, defensible and actionable.
Develop compelling presentations that help clients understand the constantly evolving technology and operation landscape
Engage clients in how to achieve their mission critical priorities
Advise CIOs and IT Executives in staying ahead in a constantly evolving technology landscape and changing geopolitical uncertainties
Deliver thought-provoking presentations for webinars, executive briefings, and industry conferences, and Gartner events.
What you will need:
10+ years’ experience working as an information technology executive, AI experience in P&C insurance or government is a plus
Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
Intellectual curiosity to continuously learn and explore new ideas
A deep technical background founded in IT department engineering experience (e.g. platform engineer for AI, systems engineer, information security engineer, cloud engineer, solutions architect etc.)
Experience helping organizations be AI ready— specifically, how to modernize data architecture and cloud compute power to deliver responsible and sustainable AI solutions
Demonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables
Excellent communicator who can explain complex concepts concisely and simply.
Superb written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
A proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challenges.
An ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 148,000 USD - 175,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
