Core Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and grants accounting.
- Direct and review the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit healthcare standards.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Serve as key contact for annual audit activities, supporting the preparation of audit schedules, Form 990, and other required filings.
- Ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance and grant reporting requirements.
- Partner with the Finance leadership and operations leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Supervise and mentor accounting managers and staff, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Recommend process improvements and support financial system enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee financial systems, recommending and implementing process improvements and technology upgrades to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure the organization has strong financial systems capable of supporting multiple funding streams, complex grant tracking, and donor reporting.
Qualifications
Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:

This role is best suited for someone with demonstrated expertise in financial leadership. The ideal candidate will bring substantial progress experience in accounting, a proven ability to lead complex financial functions and teams, and a background in healthcare financial management. Experience managing external audits and ensuring regulatory compliance is also essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and healthcare compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting and reporting systems (e.g., Workday, NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage audits, and drive process improvement.

Conditions of Employment
- Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
- Must be able to pass credit check
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
- Must attend any required training.
Time Type:
