As the Director, Revenue Accounting, you’ll own one of the most critical areas of financial reporting for a rapidly growing healthcare company. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, build scalable revenue processes, and lead a team that ensures accurate reporting under ASC 606. This is a high-visibility role with direct impact on strategic decisions, operational execution, and external reporting.
ResponsibilitiesLead all aspects of revenue accounting, including month-end close, analysis and reporting, controls considerations and technical accounting under ASC 606.
Oversee contract review for revenue recognition implications.
Lead and mentor a team of two revenue accountants, providing coaching and professional development.
Partner with Strategic Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Operations to support accurate forecasting, reporting, and compliance.
Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and controls to support scale and operational excellence.
Support external audits and reviews
Assist the Accounting team as needed with ad hoc tasks and projects
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
Become a subject matter expert in Virta’s business model, revenue streams, and contracts.
Develop strong working relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders (Strategic Finance, Legal, Commercial, Operations).
Assess current systems and processes and propose improvements for scalability and accuracy.
Take ownership of the revenue reporting process and implement improvements on revenue reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
CPA with strong technical knowledge of ASC 606
10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and industry, with at least 3+ years focused on revenue accounting
Experience in a fast-paced, public company environment
3+ years in a leadership role managing teams and developing talent
Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable processes and controls
Excellent communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally
Comfortable working in a fully remote setting

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. For this role, the compensation range is $175,088-$200,100. Information about Virta’s benefits is on our Careers page at: https://www.virtahealth.com/careers.
