Job Responsibilities:
To provide necessary dimensional engineering skills to both Quality and Engineering departments in support of Production operations, which achieve optimum levels of safety, quality, productivity and delivery to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction

  • Support new product dimensional engineering, working closely with Program Managers and Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) Engineers.
  • Problem-solve using advanced statistical techniques (probability, capability, etc.)
  • Audit systems for compliance and Continuous Improvement opportunities
  • Participate in APQP activities to develop prototype and initial production measurement control plans
  • Participate in PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities, including checking fixture design to meet program timelines and supplier technical capability
  • Review control plans and documentation with production, updating where applicable
  • Assist with and provide training on Quality Systems, including SPC (Statistical Process Control) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) development
  • Support customer meetings and build events to improve design & manufacturing methods
  • Evaluate complex Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R) data utilizing specialized knowledge and experience in the quality field


Who we are looking for:

  • 3 years' experience required
  • Automotive quality or engineering experience
  • Proven knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)


EDUCATION/TECHNICAL EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma required; prefer college-level courses, technical background in quality sciences
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (college-level courses, technical background in quality sciences)
  • SPC (Statistical Process Control), FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis), Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)


SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Technical math skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to conduct effective meetings and instructional classes
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, available to work additional hours as needed


TRAVEL

  • Occasional travel with overnight stay may be required
