Job Title: Jenkins Migration Engineer
Onsite: McLean, VA
Experience: 10+ years
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Jenkins Migration Engineer to drive end-to-end migration initiatives from CloudBees Jenkins to Open-Source Jenkins. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining migration strategy, target architecture, and governance, while ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient CI/CD transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end migration strategy, architecture, and governance for transitioning from CloudBees Jenkins to Open-Source Jenkins.
- Conduct current state assessments of existing DevOps and Jenkins-based environments.
- Define and design target-state CI/CD architecture ensuring high availability (HA), scalability, and disaster recovery (DR).
- Drive DevOps tool migrations, including source code repositories and pipeline migrations.
- Modernize legacy pipelines by implementing Pipeline as Code and enterprise CI/CD best practices.
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-optimized CI/CD solutions.
- Automate migration activities using scripting and DevOps tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Work with containerized agents and Kubernetes to enhance CI/CD infrastructure.
- Ensure security, compliance, and data integrity throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Provide recommendations for CI/CD modernization and optimization.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for migration processes, configurations, and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery and alignment.
Required Skills & Expertise:
- Strong hands-on experience with Jenkins (Core and Plugins) and CloudBees Jenkins
- Expertise in CI/CD architecture, pipeline design, and enterprise DevOps practices
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized build agents
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as: Groovy / Python / YAML / JSON
- Strong experience in Pipeline as Code and pipeline configuration management
- Experience in automating tasks and workflows to streamline migrations
- Good understanding of DevOps toolchain integrations
