Position Overview

We are a global innovation group that develops new products, processes, and the tools to bring them to life. This role combines mechanical design, controls, process development, and data analysis. You will design prototype hardware, build parts, develop repeatable processes, and use data to validate performance. You will support cross-functional projects and own assigned work from concept through validated handoff.

What you'll do

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Design parts, assemblies, and prototype hardware in SolidWorks, including models, drawings, and BOMs. 
  • Create panel layouts and enclosure cutout drawings in AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks. 
  • Support prototype and tooling builds using pneumatic systems and electrical schematics. 
  • Develop repeatable processes by defining parameters, equipment, and controls. 
  • Design and run experiments using DOE, statistical methods, and data analysis to validate performance and guide decisions. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including instructions, parameters, test records, and data summaries. 
  • Communicate project status, findings, and risks clearly and proactively. 
  • Support senior and principal engineers on development projects. 
  • Own assigned projects end to end and adapt to shifting priorities. 

 

OTHER FUNCTIONS 

  • Works across changing priorities and projects. Challenges assumptions, shares information openly, and uses data to support decisions. 
  • Stays current on relevant technologies in automation, sensing, connectivity, advanced manufacturing, and analytics, and applies them practically. 
  • Maintains clear, organized designs and documentation and supports knowledge sharing across the team. 

Who you are

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Acceptable training and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. Equivalent experiences will be considered. 
  • Solid knowledge of 3D CAD software, including mechanical modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings. SolidWorks required; AutoCAD Electrical preferred. 
  • Knowledge of controls fundamentals and how systems are wired, automated, and made repeatable. 
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems, including components, assembly, and documentation. 
  • Knowledge of DOE, statistical methods, and data-driven process validation. 
  • Knowledge of documentation best practices and maintaining accurate, organized records. 
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving and root cause analysis tools.

Work Environment 

Office environment approximately 25%; shop environment approximately 75%.
