Position Summary

 The Data Analyst plays an important role in the organization by supporting activities related to the company’s Information Technology and Data & Analytics functions. This role is primarily responsible, under general supervision, for executing data analysis and reporting activities within the company’s enterprise data platform. The Data Analyst partners with business stakeholders to gather and document data requirements, support the definition and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and perform data validation to ensure accuracy and consistency of reporting outputs. The position contributes to the delivery of actionable insights by analyzing data, researching internal and external data sources, and supporting data quality and governance initiatives. Responsibilities include assisting stakeholders with reporting needs, maintaining data documentation such as the Logical Data Dictionary (LDD), and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, high-quality data is available for business decision-making. 

This role is an exempt position with a targeted salary range of $82,506.00 to $118,355.94 annually.

Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location. 

Essential Functions 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, Product, and Data & Technology teams to gather, document, and clarify data and reporting requirements.
  • Research internal systems of record and external data sources to support analytical and reporting needs; assist in evaluating data availability and quality.
  • Support onboarding of new data sources, including third-party and private datasets, to enhance business insights.
  • Assist in identifying data transformation and integration requirements for loading data into the enterprise data warehouse. 
  • Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of dashboards, reports, and analytical outputs prior to delivery. 
  • Maintain and update data documentation, including the Logical Data Dictionary (LDD), with field definitions, data lineage, and source system details. 
  • Document functional and non-functional requirements related to data collection, transformation, processing, and visualization. 
  • Generate reports and deliver insights on customer behavior, operational performance, and key business metrics using standard analytics tools. 
  • Support KPI definition, tracking, and monitoring to ensure alignment with business objectives and data accuracy. 
  • Identify data trends, anomalies, and data quality issues; escalate findings and assist in root cause analysis and resolution. 
  • Assist in improving data quality through data curation activities, validation rules, and support of master data management processes. 
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes and improve efficiency in data delivery workflows. 
  • Support identification and documentation of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and adhere to established data governance and access control policies. 
  • Contribute to documentation of data availability, recovery requirements, and business continuity practices. 
  • Participate in team meetings, stakeholder reviews, and solution design sessions; collaborate effectively across teams. 
  • Prepare and deliver data, reports, and analysis to management and business partners as requested. 
  • Follow established data governance standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  •  BS in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field required. 
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Minimum three years experience in Data Analyst or related role(s) supporting data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence functions, including experience gathering requirements, querying and analyzing data, validating data quality, and delivering insights to stakeholders. 
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. 
  • Working knowledge of data analysis concepts, including data profiling, validation techniques, and basic statistical analysis. 
  • Proficiency in gathering and documenting business requirements, including translating business needs into data and reporting specifications. 
  • Experience querying and analyzing data using SQL across relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, Postgres, MySQL); exposure to NoSQL databases is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with data integration concepts, including ETL processes and modern data pipelines. 
  • Experience working with structured and semi-structured data from internal systems and third-party data providers. 
  • Understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, data lineage, and proper handling of sensitive data such as PII. 
  • Ability to perform data validation, reconciliation, and basic root cause analysis to identify and resolve data issues. 
  • Experience supporting reporting and analytics solutions using standard BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies such as Agile/Scrum and basic IT service management concepts. 
  • Proficiency with collaboration and documentation tools such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and platforms like Jira, Confluence, or SharePoint. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. 
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams. 
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn new tools, technologies, and business domains, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Requirements 

  • Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting. 
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse. 
  • Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media. 
  • Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. 
  • Office environment – moderate noise, no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions. 
  • Travel: 5% or less. 
  • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of a workflow. • This role requires effective adaptation to workplace stressors, including customer service complaints, security responsibilities, and competing priorities.
  • Must be able to adhere to process protocol. Must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.
