Role Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Data Analytics, Insights & Measurement, the Rapid Insights Data Analyst will play a highly visible role in helping T. Rowe Price's Individual Investors (II) business make better, faster data-driven decisions. II is a dynamic and rapidly evolving component of the firm's growth, focused on empowering individual clients through innovative products, digital experiences, and personalized service. The Rapid Insights program is designed to meet the business where it is - responding quickly to urgent questions, surfacing emerging trends, and accelerating practical quick wins.
In this role, you will work closely with key stakeholders and stay close to the decisions that shape outcomes. You will help intake and clarify requests, prioritize what matters most, analyze data quickly and thoughtfully, and translate findings into concise, business-ready insights and recommendations. The work spans ad hoc analysis, KPI development, root-cause investigation, dashboarding, trend identification, and rapid prototyping. You will balance speed with sound judgment - moving quickly without sacrificing trust, transparency, or analytical discipline.
This is an excellent opportunity for an analyst who enjoys variety, ambiguity, and direct partnership with the business. You will join a collaborative analytics team that values curiosity, adaptability, strong communication, and measurable impact. The strongest candidates will be energized by turning imperfect questions into clear analytical paths, helping stakeholders act with confidence, and recognizing when a recurring or complex need should be handed off for a more durable Analytics Engineering solution.
Responsibilities
- Intake, triage, and prioritize business questions.
- Capture requests from multiple channels, clarify the business question, define the decision to be supported, and determine the right analytical path.
- Prioritize work based on urgency, business value, stakeholder impact, and available capacity, so the business is not blocked waiting on analysis.
- Maintain close stakeholder alignment throughout the workflow, communicating assumptions, trade-offs, timing, and limitations clearly.
- Use SQL, Excel, Python, statistical methods, and other analytical tools to perform descriptive and diagnostic analyses, data pulls, and root-cause investigations.
- Analyze client, digital, marketing, sales, operational, workforce, and business performance questions as needs arise.
- Synthesize findings into clear implications, options, and recommended next steps that stakeholders can act on quickly.
- Create and enhance dashboards and visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools to improve transparency and support timely decisions.
- Help define, validate, and communicate KPIs and performance measures so stakeholders understand what is happening and why.
- Apply strong data storytelling and executive communication to make complex analysis understandable to audiences at all levels.
- Look beyond the immediate request to identify patterns, themes, anomalies, risks, and opportunities before stakeholders ask.
- Use trend and pattern identification to connect day-to-day analysis with broader business performance and potential actions.
- Provide proactive analytical support that helps the business anticipate issues and opportunities rather than only react to them.
- Rapidly prototype analyses, reporting, and lightweight solutions to test value and meet near-term needs.
- Recognize recurring, technically complex, automation-heavy, or scalable needs and partner with Analytics Engineering to transition them into durable solutions.
- Document requirements, logic, assumptions, and business context so handoffs are efficient and reusable.
- Work effectively in an Agile environment, reprioritizing as business needs change while maintaining transparency and follow-through.
- Use peer review, validation, and documentation practices appropriate to the speed and risk of the work.
- Use AI and Copilot capabilities where appropriate to accelerate analysis, documentation, and quality checks while maintaining accuracy and sound judgment.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Operations Management, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related degree/field.
- 3+ years of total relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in generating SQL queries.
- Proficiency with Python, including experience with machine-learning packages.
- Experience with visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI to communicate business performance and status.
- Proficient in analytical thinking, problem solving, stakeholder management, requirements gathering, collaboration, adaptability, and documentation.
- Proficient in applied statistics, SQL, data storytelling, executive communication, and AI/Copilot utilization.
- Comfortable working in a high-change environment where priorities can shift quickly, and strong judgment matters as much as technical depth.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Data Science or Computer Science.
- Experience with Snowflake or JupyterHub.
- Experience with AnyLogic or other simulation-based software or programming.
- Experience with linear programming and solving optimization-based problems with mathematical solvers.
- Ability to develop and communicate analytical results and insights for partners at all levels within the organization, including senior management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust and confidence, strengthen relationships through ongoing dialogue and interactions, and collaborate effectively with others.
- Working knowledge of Python/R and exposure to data modeling, automation, Git/version control, Agile delivery practices, testing, and performance optimization are helpful but are not the defining focus of the role.
