A Forensic Data Analyst, who will develop and support systems that provide deep insight into site usage using innovative data analytic tools and approaches within the Forensic Monitoring team.
The Forensic Monitoring team is vital to supporting key operations by capturing and analyzing thousands of events per second and identifying patterns of user behavior. The work you will do ensures the health and stability of the Business core website, which is crucial to providing the best possible customer experience.
You will learn cutting edge technologies at significant scale. You will be given the guidance and support to develop into an accomplished Data Analyst with the ability to present coherent information based on vast amounts of data. You will learn how to produce predictive models, including machine learning and code in Python. You will be producing analysis and solutions to drive the correct decisions in the shortest possible time.
You will have the opportunity to influence the technical direction of the team as we continue to evolve and solve new and challenging problems in this arena.
This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company's hybrid working from home policy.
The salary range for this position is $64,000 - $85,000 annually.

Preferred skills and experience
  • Demonstrable data analysis experience, ideally with Python or similar technologies.
  • Degree level qualification in mathematics, statistics, computer science or a similar field.
  • Experience of machine learning, neural networks, clustering and classification techniques, and recommendation and optimization algorithms.
  • Experience of large data systems and SQL databases.
  • Experience using Hadoop and Spark, or similar distributed storage and query technologies.
  • Strong understanding of version control systems such as Git.
  • Familiarity with data streaming messaging queuing technologies such as Kafka.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and data design principles.
  • Experience of working in an environment with thousands of transactions per second.
  • Experience of complex event processing and continuous query languages.

  • Looking for unusual and abnormal activity using forensics platform.
  • Analyzing captured data, looking for patterns and opportunities to improve our monitoring tools.
  • Producing reports and proposals based on the analysis performed.
  • Developing and maintaining a platform consuming diverse and complex data feeds.
  • Creating advanced models and predictive tools.
  • Working with, and maintaining big data solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies for analytics and predictive modelling, such as the GCP stack.
  • Ensuring the availability, integrity and usability of data in the Forensics cluster.
  • Reacting to evolving business needs and requirements.
  • Driving technology change and implementing the right solutions.
