PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $125,700.00-$153,600.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $97,400.00 - $181,800.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:
As the Credit Risk Analysis Manager at BECU, you’ll drive forward the health and sustainability of our Auto & Other Secured lending portfolios, using your analytical expertise to shine a light on both emerging risks and opportunities. Your leadership will ensure we remain grounded in strong governance while exploring innovation in credit risk strategy. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our credit risk frameworks and leading key initiatives, all while collaborating with stakeholders across the organization. Your work won’t just protect our financial strength—it will help create smarter, more member-focused lending experiences.
To join our dynamic team in this role, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, SC or GA. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance to our Tukwila Headquarters (TFC), we encourage you come into the office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays each week. For those candidates that live outside the commutable distance to TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be primarily remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Investigate & Validate Processes: Use data insights and team engagement to review risk management practices, ensuring our strategies are both sound and aligned with real-world operations.
Analyze Risk & Opportunities: Dive deep into loan portfolio performance to detect patterns, uncover potential risks, and spot opportunities—helping shape strategies that benefit our members and our institution.
Monitor & Improve Strategy Effectiveness: Perform statistical modeling to evaluate how well our current credit risk approaches are working, recommending enhancements where they can drive better results.
Optimize Scorecard Usage: Leverage your analytical toolkit to refine industry or internal scorecards used across originations, campaigns, account management, and more.
Communicate Insights: Translate complex risk findings into clear, actionable narratives for senior leadership, supporting smart decision-making at the highest levels.
Present to Committees: Share timely risk monitoring updates and strategic recommendations with the Credit Committee when needed.
Shape Risk Appetite: Collaborate with Executive and Senior Leaders to evolve our credit risk appetite and guide initiatives from origination through to collections.
Drive Departmental Initiatives: Partner with the leadership team to implement departmental strategies, bringing ideas to life with strong follow-through and cross-team collaboration.
Mentor Future Risk Leaders: Support and coach junior Credit Risk team members, helping them grow their technical skills and confidence.
Document Procedures: Ensure thorough documentation of processes in your area and keep procedures up to date for accuracy and efficiency.
Manage Vendor Partnerships: Oversee vendor relationships to maintain service quality and cost-effectiveness in support of our members.
Support Reporting & Audits: Deliver accurate reporting and maintain audit-ready records for effective departmental oversight.
Promote Advocacy: Collaborate internally and externally to launch initiatives that strengthen both employee and member advocacy.
Contribute Broadly: Take on additional duties as needed, supporting the dynamic needs of the team and organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in quantitative or business field.
Minimum 7 years of related credit risk analytics experience.
Advanced knowledge of quantitative software and database querying tools (ex. SAS, SQL, Python).
Advanced knowledge of presentation development software (ex. Tableau, PowerBI, PowerPoint).
Desired Qualifications:
Advanced degree.
Experience in auto and/or other secured credit risk analytics.
Experience in the financial services industry.
Previous experience with analysis of portfolio performance and articulate results and desired outcomes from a risk management perspective.
Proven ability to collect pertinent data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions as well as formulate ideas and recommendations.
Proficient in building cohesive cross-functional teams and facilitating collaborative decision making.
Proficient PC Skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc.) with the ability to learn new software quickly.
Excellent project management skills.
