Job Duties and Responsibilities
EchoStar is innovating and changing the way the world communicates, and we are looking to build out our team that can deliver scalable HR generalist support. The Corporate Sr. Generalist role executes the consistent delivery of HR support related to performance management, escalations, disciplinary action, employee relations, and other employee lifecycle events. This team is the day to day support for employees and people managers within a specific line of business at the corporate locations.
This role is foundational to ensuring we carry out efficient and effective HR processes. As such, this role will work closely with the HR Business Partners, People Managers, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, HR Shared Services, Total Rewards, and other support teams to deliver a unified and frictionless employee experience while mitigating risk for the organization. Additionally, this position will initiate and lead projects that focus on the continuous improvement of said processes, ensuring alignment with other HR teams and consideration for corporate employee personas.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide HR consulting and coaching, including but not limited to working with business leaders to solve personnel issues and assist business leaders with driving DISH organizational culture throughout the business organization
  • Perform daily transacting, advising, and consulting with employees and people managers, including redirecting them to available resources and appropriate support teams
  • Act as HR support for escalated or urgent scenarios on site at corporate locations, such as incident management, reasonable suspicion, etc., and partner with HR Business Partners as necessary
  • Escalate opportunities for the development of leadership competencies while completing employee life cycle events
  • Support mid-level corporate managers in cyclical strategic activities such as Performance Appraisal, development of business goals, Talent Planning, and Employee Experience survey action planning
  • Partner with mid-level corporate leaders to influence and improve upon the employee experience
  • Ensure ownership of delivering on the HR catalog of services with accuracy, while tracking trends and themes for adjustments to meet the needs of our broad range of audiences
  • Provide expertise in technical and regulatory aspects of employment including hiring, termination, performance management, and rewards
  • HR program advocacy, including but not limited to communicating the business value of HR initiatives and managing HR program rollout to minimize business disruption
  • Partner with the People Operations and HR Business Partner teams to support the expansion of the HR Service Delivery Model through change management activities, consistent feedback loops and process design
  • Work with colleagues in the DISH HR organization (talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, HRIS, analytics, etc) to ensure alignment with employee needs and ongoing process/service improvement initiatives
  • Role model collaborative working relationships and mentoring amongst the greater HR team
  • Employment brand ambassador who leads by example, and demonstrates DISH culture and values in his/her/their actions and words
  • Interpret, understand, and execute on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form
  • Report to work at a DISH facility on a regular, predictable and timely basis
  • Meet all of DISH's performance expectations, including but not limited to, satisfying all applicable metrics, productivity standards, goals, and proficiencies related to overall performance

As a Senior member of the Generalist team, they will serve as a subject matter expert in HR processes with little to no supervision. They will lead project opportunities and innovate process improvements as well as training sessions to close knowledge gaps as identified. Senior HR Generalists will identify moments to champion solutions-oriented thinking and will act as mentors to the internal Generalist group, serving as a coach and providing feedback towards development.
This role reports to the Head of HR, HR Business Partner Team. Travel demands vary, but are estimated at less than 25% .
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5+ years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience, across multiple HR disciplines (i.e. Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Investigations, Leave of Absence, HR Operations, Compliance, Generalist work, etc.) with advanced knowledge of more than one discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience providing HR support for large organizations (approximately 5000+ employees)
  • Previous management experience is a plus
  • Experience supporting multiple employee types and multiple lines of business (i.e operations, entry-level, professional, technology, etc.)
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial culture as well as a larger, established company desired
  • Experience in coaching and advising employees at multiple levels from front-line hourly employees to executives

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven track record or building business acumen and applying business knowledge to problem solving and making recommendations to leadership
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees, people managers and teams in order understand team dynamics, become a trusted partner, and use influence with stakeholders
  • Ability to stand firm and remain committed when necessary and facilitate understanding when difficult decisions must be made and executed
  • Adept at handling multiple competing priorities and duties in a fast-paced, results-driven, rapidly changing environment - with minimal daily oversight
  • Ability to identify trends in data and/or observations, and is comfortable at informing and partnering with appropriate stakeholders to make recommendations based on trends

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $72,350.00/Year - $103,400.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
