We are hiring a strategic, quality driven Director of Human Resources for the Vail Resorts Corporate Office located in Broomfield, CO.  This individual will be responsible for effectively planning, developing and implementing a fully integrated human resources strategy for the corporate office.  The Director of Human Resources will administer a wide variety of HR programs in support of the company’s objectives and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal employment laws, policies, and regulations.  He/she will also have oversight with the corporate functional areas over the strategic direction of employee relations, recruiting strategies, leadership development, compensation and benefit programs for the corporate population.   As an integral leader, this person will also assist in guiding and leading appropriate training programs for the corporate team and provide general guidance to the organization on matters of leadership development.


Essential responsibilities include (but are not limited to):


  • Serving as a member of the HR Leadership Team & various functional group leadership teams (IT, Marketing, Legal, etc)
  • Leadership of the HR function for all Corporate employees (approx  = 600)
  • Strong business partnership with C-Level executives and their senior leadership teams on HR programs and strategy
  • Ensuring all Human Resources practices & programs are consistent and effective while maintaining compliance with local and state employment laws and regulatory requirements
  • Providing counsel on employee relations strategy, including investigation of issues, government programs and compliance with legal requirements, disciplinary actions, and coaching support.
  • Partnering with the corporate Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and Employee Relations functions to effectively deliver HR programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborating with mountain, hospitality, retail, and corporate divisions to provide integrated HR tactics and strategy.
  • Oversight over the strategic direction of the Corporate Training programs.
  • 3 Direct Reports. Position reports to VP of Human Resource Operations.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree required, Advanced degree desired
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive HR experience
  • Minimum 6 years supervisory experience in HR department
  • PHR/SPHR Preferred
  • Strong employee relations experience required
  • Extensive experience in leading HR in a corporate environment with regular C-Suite partnership strongly preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, experience in PeopleSoft and SuccessFactors preferred
  • Written and Oral English Language skills, Spanish a plus
  • Needs strong change management, analytical skills, operational partnership skills, teambuilding, relationship orientation, and excellent communication skills
