Position Summary:
We’re seeking a skilled and strategic someone to help shape and elevate our brand while fostering a strong, connected company culture. This role will drive compelling storytelling, strengthen our market presence, and ensure consistent communications across internal and external channels. You’ll partner closely with leadership, marketing, and cross-functional teams, while managing one direct report and external partners to bring our brand and culture to life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Brand & Identity
- Develop, refine, and maintain the company’s brand positioning, messaging, and voice.
- Ensure brand consistency across all internal and external touchpoints.
- Lead initiatives to define the company’s category, market differentiation, and value proposition.
- Partner with product and leadership teams to integrate brand strategy into campaigns and initiatives.
External Communications
- Own and execute corporate communications, including media relations, critical customer communications, press releases, and executive visibility opportunities.
- Build thought leadership through speaking engagements, contributed articles, and executive social media presence.
- Grow the company’s reputation, influence, and share of voice across media, analysts, and digital channels.
- Oversee and manage the external and internal PR team and other vendors (writers, bloggers, agencies).
- Support the development of media training, interview preparation, and post-engagement feedback for spokespeople.
Internal Communications & Culture
- Drive clear, inspiring internal communications that align employees to company vision, goals, and values.
- Partner with HR and leadership to enhance culture, morale, and employee engagement.
- Optimize and manage internal channels (e.g., intranet, newsletters, all-hands) for effective reach and impact.
- Coach and equip leaders to deliver clear, motivating, and consistent communications to their teams and the organization.
- Establish internal communication protocols, frameworks, and best practices that raise the quality and consistency of communications across the organization
Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage one direct report and guide external agencies and vendors.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Sales, and HR to align brand and communications initiatives with business goals.
- Track KPIs and deliver insights on brand and communications performance.
- Thrives in a collaborative partnership with the Head of Marketing, demonstrating initiative, accountability, proactivity, and minimal need for direction.

Required Abilities and Skills:
- Proven success in developing and executing brand and communications strategies.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills; able to translate complex ideas into compelling narratives.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills across teams and levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; energy/sustainability background a plus.
- 6–8 years of leadership experience in brand, communications, or marketing roles, with strong B2B experience.
- Experience in media and analyst relations with a record of securing coverage.
- Leadership experience managing at least one direct report and working with external agencies/vendors.

Travel:
10%-20% of domestic travel time is expected for this position with overnight stays.
