- Lead the architectural design and evolution of our cloud-native platform, ensuring solutions are highly scalable, available, and capable of processing millions of transactions per day
- Define and drive the long-term technical vision and strategy for the platform, making critical decisions that align with business goals and adapt to emerging technologies
- Design and document complex, end-to-end system architectures , ensuring they are robust, maintainable, and well-understood by development teams
- Mentor and grow a team of talented engineers , fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively within an agile environment, championing CI/CD best practices and setting the standard for high-quality software delivery
- Translate complex business requirements and abstract concepts into tangible architectural blueprints and production-ready code
- Build and manage both internally consumed and externalized microservices-based applications, with a focus on API design, security, and performance
- Spearhead experimentation and proof-of-concepts with new technologies and approaches, learning from failures to find innovative solutions to complex problems
- Act as a technical leader and subject matter expert across the organization, influencing engineering standards and practices
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
- 8+ years of professional development experience
Skills and Qualifications:
- Expert-level proficiency and hands-on architectural experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Go, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript
- Mastery of software engineering principles, domain-driven design, and architectural patterns, with a proven ability to analyze and communicate complex trade-offs
- Extensive experience architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), including expertise in service mesh, serverless, and container orchestration
- Demonstrated understanding of how backend platform decisions impact various client architectures, including modern web (e.g., React, Angular) and mobile (Android, iOS) applications
- Deep knowledge of and hands-on experience with a variety of NoSQL and SQL databases, including data modeling for performance, scale, and consistency
- A strong desire to learn new things, challenge assumptions, and continuously improve
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience leading and thriving in an Agile environment, with the ability to adapt to evolving projects while maintaining focus on the long-term technical vision
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Deep experience architecting for the cloud-native ecosystem (Kubernetes, Service Mesh like Istio/Linkerd, GitOps) and driving infrastructure-as-code practices
- Experience designing and implementing Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architectures to support diverse client needs
- Expertise in designing systems with asynchronous messaging patterns using technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar
- Familiarity with API Gateway patterns and schema federation
- Proficiency with modern observability and SRE principles and tools (e.g., Dynatrace, New Relic, DataDog, Prometheus, ELK stack)
