What is the role?
As a a highly skilled Contracts Manager with deep expertise in the space sector for both U.S. government and commercial contracting you will lead the execution and management of complex contractual relationships across a portfolio of programs, ensuring compliance with federal acquisition regulations, alignment with mission goals, and timely contract completion. You will coordinate between internal teams and external stakeholders, especially with legal and contracting counterparts from agencies such as NASA, DoD, and commercial space companies. You will also be responsible for driving contracts to successful completion. This role is part of our Legal team.
Some of your daily tasks will include:

  • Experience with commercial contracting and international trade contracts
  • Deep understanding of contractual, business and commercial risks
  • Own the end-to-end contracting process for government and commercial space projects, from RFP reviews and proposal development to contract execution alongside the Legal team
  • Management the entire contract lifecycle of commercial agreements executed by the company, including federal contracts, subcontracts, procurement contracts for satellites and space services,
    master service agreements, and licensing agreements
  • Provide high quality advice and support of the Legal and business units during the negotiation, drafting and ongoing management of contracts
  • Effectively managing commercial risks and issues
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, applicable U.S. Government contracting regulations, including FAR, DFARS, US export controls, and relevant agency - specific requirements
  • Coordinate with compliance and export control teams to ensure contract terms align with licensing and regulatory frameworks
  • Act as the primary point of contact for contract matters and communicate contractual obligations and contract change requests between internal stakeholders and external parties
  • Collaborate with Legal, finance, business units and program management teams to track contract milestones and deliverables
  • Proactively identify contract risks and mitigation strategies, including limitations of liability, indemnities, IP ownership, and flow-down clauses, coordinate with Legal unit and ensure company applies mitigation measures
  • Develop internal tools, templates, and processes to improve contract efficiency and consistency
  • Maintain organized contract records and support audits, reviews, and regulatory inquiries
  • Working alongside the Legal team and coordinating between various stakeholders, including finance, business and engineering units.
  • Drive process efficiency to current tasks and seek innovative ways to improve performance of the team.
What do we look for?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5–10+ years of experience in contracts management, with a minimum of 3 years focused on aerospace, space, or defense contracting
  • Deep familiarity with FAR/DFARS, agency-specific procurement frameworks (NASA, DoD, AFRL, DARPA), and commercial contracting in the space domain
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex, high-value contracts
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experienced with ITAR/EAR export compliance regulations
  • Based in the Denver or Washington DC areas, or willing to relocate to either

Salary range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year. The state of Colorado requires listing salary details. The salary will likely be within this range although it may differ based on experience level or other factors.
