Job Overview

The Contract Program Security Officer (CPSO) serves as the primary security lead for Radix's Industrial Security program, supporting both classified and unclassified contracts, as well as Independent Research & Development (IR&D) efforts.  This position also provides operational support for Security Administration, Physical Security, and Personnel Security functions.

This position has significant independent responsibility and serves as the primary security authority for assigned programs throughout the entire lifecycle.  The CPSO independently interprets complex customer requirements, authors Program Protection Implementation Plans (PPIPs), advises program leadership, and directly interfaces with government customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This is a full-time salaries position for a highly organized, motivated, and mission-driven individual contributor.  The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment and excels at navigating an organization to achieve goals.  This role requires someone with the ability to adapt to changing conditions, while staying focused on objectives and collaborating effectively across teams.

Industrial/Program Security

  • Contract Security Oversight:  Serve as the CPSO/Security Lead for assigned classified contracts, interpreting and enforcing Security Classification Guides (SCGs), issuing and interpreting DD Form 254s, and Program-specific security requirements from contract initiation to closeout.
  • Access & Program Protection:  Process and maintain Program Access Requests and rosters, and manage classified data protection protocols for program teams and customer interfaces.
  • Program Protection:  Develop, author, implement, and update Program Protection Implementation Plans (PPIPs), Security Plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and associated program security documentation.
  • Proposal Support:  Author compliant Security Volumes for proposal efforts and assist Security Leadership in developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for program security resources.
  • Customer & Leadership Interface:  Interface directly with IC/DoD government Security representatives, Program Managers, and technical leads.  Advise leadership on risks, vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and mitigation strategies.
  • Security Education & Training:  Prepare and provide tailored Program-specific training and guidance to program staff.

Classification Management & Information Security

  • Classification & Safeguarding Guidance:  Provide expert guidance regarding classification, portion marking, handling, safeguarding, transmission, storage, reproduction, and destruction of classified information and media.
  • Information Screening:  Review technical papers, presentations, and program documentation for security and classification requirements prior to dissemination.
  • Incident Management:  Investigate and report security incidents, violations, and potential compromises in accordance with customer requirements.

Other Security Support

  • Personnel Security (PERSEC):  Support program access management and serve as the primary operational backup for clearance processing using various IC and DoD systems.  Support indoctrinations/debriefings, mandatory reporting, visit management, and other security tasks as needed.
  • Physical Security (PHYSEC):  Assist with local access control administration, SCIF/secure area monitoring (ICD 705 standards), secure area opening/closing procedures, and escorting uncleared vendors.
  • Audit & Inspection Assistance:  Support the Physical Security POC during routine facility self-inspections, alarm testing, and government security reviews.

Salary Range:

The salary and compensation for this position will be determined based on skill level, experience, and education as applicable. These factors include, but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, ability to fulfill all job requirements, education, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, bargaining agreements (if any), or other applicable law.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Currently active TS/SCI security clearance issued by a U.S. Government Entity (no sponsorship available)
  • U.S. Government Adjudicated Full-Scope or Counterintelligence polygraph at time of hire
  • 5+ years of directly related industrial security experience, with demonstrated capability independently support SCI programs with IC/DoD customers in a CPSO capacity
  • Proven experience authoring clear, defensible PPIPs, Security Plans, SOPs, and managing DD 254s
  • Strong ability to articulate security policy and guidance to internal employees, corporate leadership, tenants, industry partners, cognizant government entities, and other stakeholders
  • Understands when strict compliance is mandatory and when risk-based solutions are allowable and appropriate
  • Self-starter with exceptional organizational and communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize competing security priorities
  • Proficiency with modern office productivity tools (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) and electronic security databases (e.g., SIMS, NBIS, TALON, DISS)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • General office and secure facility (SCIF/Closed Area) environment
  • Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, and phone for extended periods
  • Must be physically capable of conducting thorough facility inspections within secure spaces, including climbing ladders to inspect above ceiling tiles
