Skydance Games is seeking a Community Manager to help shape, grow, and engage our player communities across Reddit, Discord, and Steam. This role sits at the intersection of players and developers. Part strategist, part storyteller, part operator and is critical to building authentic, long-lasting relationships with fans of our franchises.

 

You will be the voice of our games within community spaces and the voice of our players within the studio, ensuring that feedback, sentiment, and culture meaningfully inform development and key marketing beats.

What You'll Do

    • Oversee and work with moderators and admins for Paramount IP community channels across Reddit, Discord and Steam. Ensure they are active, welcoming, and aligned with the tone of each franchise
    • Utilize Skydance’s community brand voice and implement it naturally within Paramount IP community Reddit, Discord and Steam pages
    • Develop and execute community engagement strategies that drive player retention, advocacy, and organic growth
    • Create and publish content including updates, patch notes, AMAs, dev posts, and community spotlights
    • Assist the social media team on content ideation, production and publishing
    • Partner with marketing, production, and development teams to translate game updates into clear, compelling community communications
    • Monitor conversations, sentiment, and trends across platforms, providing actionable insights back to internal teams
    • Lead and assist in moderation strategy and enforcement, working with volunteer moderators where applicable
    • Design and run community activations such as events, contests, and live Q&As
    • Support game launches and live service beats with real-time communication and player support coordination
    • Work with brand marketing team for community events and activations including Comic-Cons, gaming conferences and entertainment trade shows 
    • Identify and nurture community leaders, creators, and superfans
    • Track and report on KPIs including engagement, growth, sentiment, and player feedback themes
    • Work with a can-do mindset, ready to jump on new opportunities and be fast and flexible to get the job done while maintaining acute attention to detail

Who we're Looking For

    • 3–5+ years of experience managing gaming communities, with direct ownership of Reddit, Discord, and/or Steam hubs
    • Deep understanding of platform-specific cultures and best practices (e.g., Reddit authenticity, Discord real-time engagement, Steam community expectations)
    • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone across brands and audiences
    • Ability to work independently and be an excellent collaborator with a passion for working across diverse groups to brainstorm creative solutions
    • Ability to interpret and follow brand guidelines
    • Experience working closely with game developers or live service teams
    • Strong instincts for community sentiment, crisis management, and player empathy
    • Familiarity with moderation tools, bots, and community analytics platforms
    • Passion for games and fandom culture, especially in franchise-driven ecosystems

Nice to Have

    • Experience launching or managing communities for AAA or live service games
    • On-camera or live hosting experience for AMAs, streams, or community events
    • Background in content creation or social media strategy
    • Familiarity with Paramount franchises or similar entertainment brands

You’ll directly influence how our franchises grow in the hands of fans, shaping not just conversation, but the future of our games.

 

The annual salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $90,000 – $100,000. The salary offered may vary based on the candidate’s location, qualifications, experience and relevant expertise, among other factors.  The range indicated is for base salary only and does not reflect the total compensation package, including bonus, benefits, etc.
