Position Overview: As a Commissioner at BHS Corrugated North America, you will be responsible for the commissioning, start-up, and optimization of corrugated converting equipment, particularly focusing on the dry or wet end. This position involves working closely with customers to ensure smooth installation, setup, and operation of machinery, ensuring it meets or exceeds operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning and Installation: Lead the commissioning and installation of dry-end equipment, including stackers, slitters, and other machinery. Ensure proper setup and alignment to achieve optimal performance.
  • Start-up and Testing: Conduct machinery start-ups, testing, and fine-tuning to ensure machines operate according to specifications. Identify and troubleshoot issues to achieve operational readiness.
  • Customer Training: Provide hands-on training to customer personnel on the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment. Ensure customers are equipped to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve technical issues during commissioning and start-up. Provide technical support to customers, both on-site and remotely, to resolve equipment-related problems.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all equipment installations meet BHS quality standards and customer specifications. Conduct inspections and tests to verify machine performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the project management, engineering, and service teams to ensure successful project completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on commissioning activities, including configurations, adjustments, and any deviations from standard procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commissioning, installation, or servicing of industrial machinery, preferably in the corrugated industry.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming, HMI, and control systems is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and support customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 80%) to customer sites across North America.
