Own strategic health-plan partnerships from concept through launch and ongoing performance. Develop partnership strategies, design novel commercial and clinical structures, model economics, negotiate complex deal terms, engage senior health-plan executives, coordinate cross-functional execution, monitor outcomes, and inform product and long-term planning. The role requires strategic problem-solving, commercial judgment, relationship building, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-growth environments.

Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $328Mm in funding, including our Series D, at a $3B valuation from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, Menlo Ventures, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and others.

The Opportunity

Grow Therapy works with most of the largest health plans in the country. As those relationships have matured, the interesting question has shifted from whether a plan works with us to what we should build together, and there is no standard answer to that question.

This role owns a focused set of key relationships end to end. You decide what should be built with each plan, design the structure that delivers it, negotiate it, and stay with it once it is live.

The work runs on a multi-year horizon. You will spend real time with health plans’ senior executives, enough that they bring you problems before they have decided what to do about them.

You will work closely with our Director, Payor Strategy and our VP, Corporate and Business Development on a team small enough that each person carries a meaningful share of the company's strategy and influence to drive it.

What You'll Be Doing

Deciding what to build

  • Develop a point of view on each health plan you cover: where their behavioral health strategy is heading, what is not working, who owns the problem internally, and what would need to be true for them to commit to something ambitious.

  • Design the solution from first principles including economics, complex deal terms, directed volume, integrated referral pathways, co-developed clinical programs, risk-sharing. The right combination differs by plan, and in most cases it does not exist anywhere in the market.

  • Build the analytical case. Size the opportunity, model the economics, test the assumptions, and produce work that holds up to a health plan's strategy and finance teams.

  • Coordinate with Grow’s leadership. Work closely with our co-founders, operations, product, engineering, and finance to assist in the build, negotiation, and execution of the partnership.

Structuring and landing it

  • Lead the commercial structuring, including rate design, exclusivity mechanics, volume commitments, and performance economics, in direct conversation with health plan executives.

  • Build the relationships that make ambitious structures possible. Agreements of this scope are approved by a small number of senior people at each plan, and reaching them takes sustained time and credibility.

  • Bring Grow's operations, product, clinical, and finance teams into what you are designing, making the trade-offs required to turn a novel structure into something we can deliver.

Owning what it produces

  • Stay with the partnership after launch. Track how it is performing, work out why/when it is not, and use your relationships with health plan leaders to adjust the structure.

  • Apply what you learn in-market to the next structure, both with that plan and with the others you cover.

  • Feed what you learn back into Grow's product roadmap and long-range planning.

You'll Be a Good Fit If

  • You have three to seven years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate development, private equity, venture capital, or a strategy function at a high-growth company, with a record of strong performance.

  • You are comfortable with problems that have no established approach, and you tend to spend real time on how a problem is structured before solving it.

  • You want to see your work through. Designing the structure is the interesting part, and you also care about how it performs once it is in-market.

  • You can hold your own with senior external executives and build long-term relationships with them. You lead with the answer, and you build arguments that work on sophisticated audiences.

  • You think through second-order effects, including how a proposal lands across a health plan's network, actuarial, and clinical teams, and what it commits Grow to operationally.

  • You build the plan rather than asking for one.

  • Healthcare experience is helpful but not required.
