About the role

As a Commercial Account Manager at Matillion, you will be responsible for managing and growing our existing commercial customer base. Your primary focus will be driving revenue growth through strategic upsells, cross-sells, and renewals, while also developing strong partnerships to maximise customer success. This role requires a proactive and consultative approach to account management, ensuring our customers continue to see value in our solutions and expand their engagement with Matillion.

What you will be doing

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Manage and expand existing customer accounts through upsells, cross-sells, and renewals, ensuring quarterly quota attainment and increased customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the Full Sales Cycle: Utilize account management best practices to oversee renewals and growth opportunities, optimizing customer success and retention.
  • Maximize Expansion Opportunities: Overcome objections, navigate contractual discussions, and identify key areas for account expansion.
  • Maintain Sales Process & CRM: Keep Salesforce CRM up to date with accurate records and follow the established sales process for all new opportunities.
  • Collaborate for Success: Partner with the Customer Success Team and Product Team to align strategies, share best practices, and drive Net Dollar Retention.
  • Leverage Partnerships & Internal Teams: Work closely with Technology, SI/GSI partners, and internal teams across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product to enhance customer engagement and revenue growth.

What we are looking for

  • Sales & Industry Experience: Previous experience in a sales role within a SaaS or tech company, preferably in a high-growth environment.
  • Technical & Market Knowledge: Understanding of Cloud and SaaS computing technologies, including utility pricing models, and familiarity with enterprise data management software.
  • Sales Process & Negotiation Skills: Experience working with procurement teams, managing contractual negotiations, and presenting to senior leadership.
  • Communication & Organization: Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Sales Tools: Experience using sales systems like Salesforce and/or Outreach to track and optimize account management.
  • Mindset & Attitude: A passion for technology, entrepreneurial spirit, and a ‘go-getter’ mentality, thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while collaborating across departments.

At Matillion, we are committed to providing compensation in line with market standards based on the role, job family, job level, and country. This role’s estimated annual salaried pay range for this position is between 44,880 - 67,320 Because this role is eligible for variable pay in the form of sales commissions, your total annual on-target annual earnings will be between 74,800 - 112,200 OTE . The final salary will be based on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications demonstrated in the hiring process.
