Cloud Architect (FTE)

Cardamom Health
Start Date: Mid-January

Cardamom Health is a fast-growing, mission-driven healthcare technology consulting firm known for our collaborative culture, deep expertise, and commitment to delivering meaningful impact for our clients. We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to join our team as a full-time employee.

About the Role

We are looking for a Cloud Architect who is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on technologist. This person will design, implement, and support cloud solutions end-to-end—bringing a full-picture understanding of architecture, design rationale, security, and real-world experience delivering successful builds in healthcare environments.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in at least one cloud platform and working proficiency in one other, with a preference for Azure, then Snowflake, then Google Cloud Platform. This role requires someone who can be client-facing while also rolling up their sleeves technically when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cloud architecture design, implementation, and support across large-scale healthcare IT projects.
  • Provide architectural oversight and hands-on support throughout full project lifecycles—from initial design through go-live and operational stabilization.
  • Develop secure, scalable, maintainable cloud solutions aligned with client needs and industry best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex environment issues and “fix” challenges with confidence and depth of understanding.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, analytics, security, and clinical application stakeholders.
  • Articulate design rationale, tradeoffs, risks, and lessons learned clearly to both technical and business audiences.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and technical expert during client interactions.
  • Support standardized processes, documentation, governance, and cloud best practices across Cardamom Health projects.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud architecture, engineering, or solution design.
  • Expert-level proficiency in at least one cloud platform (Azure strongly preferred) and working knowledge of at least one additional platform (Snowflake or GCP preferred).
  • Experience delivering end-to-end cloud implementations, including design, build, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to “dig in,” diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Healthcare IT experience required (Epic experience a plus).
  • Experience supporting multiple organizations or consulting across at least two prior employers.
  • Comfortable being client-facing while also working deeply on technical tasks.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in cloud security, IAM, encryption, or compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.).
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms, ETL pipelines, or analytics modernization within healthcare settings.
  • Certifications in Azure, GCP, or Snowflake.
Who You Are
  • You enjoy solving complex problems and are excited by opportunities to build.
  • You are self-directed, curious, and comfortable owning architecture end-to-end.
  • You thrive in client-facing settings and can adapt your communication style to your audience.
  • You appreciate a collaborative, high-trust environment and jump in wherever help is needed.
