As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will collaborate with Client Engagement team (client support team) and Brown & Brown Clients to provide clinical expertise and clinical analytics support. You will interpret and evaluate pharmacy claims trends, provide clinical insights, and recommend clinical management strategies and solutions. You will bring strong industry knowledge and will serve as a trusted business partner to your clients. A successful candidate is a team player who is creative, organized, detailed oriented, pro-active and have strong communication skills.
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Derive data-driven strategy recommendations regarding formulary coverage, utilization management, plan design, clinical programs, etc. that align with client goals and culture
- Review, analyze and present clinical analysis to support internal & external business goals
- Support in developing and communicating clinical insight to key stakeholders including clients, brokers, and internal teammates
- Collaborate across teams and within the broader Brown & Brown organization to support growth, new business, and client retention
- Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy/medical trends within the healthcare setting
- Follow and assess clinical updates in the healthcare setting including but not limited to FDA-related changes, key PBM (pharmacy benefit manager) partners, state and federal legislative bodies, Wolters Kluwer/Medi-Span and key healthcare communication sources
- Assist in the development of new clinical pharmacy services product offerings and clinical marketing collateral to be distributed to clients and other marketing channels (i.e. website, blog, videos, white papers, etc.)
- Support in providing expertise in the specific formulary requirements established for commercial, Medicare, Exchange and Medicaid programs
- Support clients with any quality measure initiatives (i.e. Medicare Star Ratings or HEDIS measures), as requested
- Comprehend and evaluate clinical program value proposition to clients
- Mentor and support non-clinical teammates to grow collective National Pharmacy team knowledge and capabilities
- This position will include job duties that require risk designations for access to Electronic Protected Health Information (PHI) in the course of their job responsibilities

Qualifications:

Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) from an accredited U.S. School of Pharmacy
- Minimum of 3+ years in pharmacy related experience
- Strong experience in MS Excel with a working knowledge of MS office suite
- Ability to travel and present to clients and internal teams (travel estimated at 20%)
- Quick self-motivated learner who can initiate and assist in new projects
- Above average communication skills (you will be responsible for presenting your work to both internal and external technical and non-technical audiences)
- Intellectual curiosity — the position requires novel research to keep Brown & Brown’s competitive edge
- Passion for pharmacy and/or medical data
Preferred:
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of the PBM/Managed Care Industry
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Experience with Tableau, including development and adhoc querying
- Model Development and/or pharmacy data analytics
- Expertise in SQL, preferably in an Oracle environment
- Broad understanding of business intelligence, reporting and statistics a plus.
- Knowledge of PBM benefit design.
- Knowledge of product development and release cycles/process is important.
Pay Range
160000 - 168000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
