Purpose of your role
The individual will join Fidelity’s global Solutions team, supporting client-facing activity for Fidelity’s business. This is a client facing role supporting consultative engagement with clients as well as the design of custom solutions. The Solutions Associate will liaise with the investment teams and the global sales force.
Works globally to identify client needs and structure suitable solutions to meet these needs. Engaging in conversations with clients to holistically understand their long-term investment needs and how these map to Fidelity’s wider investment capabilities and strategies.
Responsibilities include the production of a wide range of written material to support client engagement. This includes pitch books and product presentations, reporting materials, marketing and training collateral, content and thought leadership, RFP/RFI submissions.
Collaboration with the Solutions Directors and Head of Client Solutions to design, create and enhance collateral to articulate our Solutions approach including case studies and playbooks to be used with clients and internally with sales teams.
Partnering with investment, distribution and operations teams to take the opportunity from initial engagement through pitch and into onboarding
This is a key business development role which requires excellent relationship development and organisational skills, effective interaction with a wide range of stakeholders and the ability to build and maintain a robust and evolving understanding of Fidelity’s business.
The individual’s specific responsibilities will include:
Modelling and design of custom solutions adopting Fidelity’s established approach. Building a deep knowledge of portfolio construction techniques aligned to the capabilities and approach of Fidelity’s investment teams
Support solutions operating model to ensure that new solutions are fit for purpose, in line with client requirements and well-coordinated with investments to develop new products and innovations
Develop strong links with distribution to identify commercial opportunities
Working with Investment Directors to discuss prospects and client needs and identify potential solutions and supporting the client onboarding process as required
Raise the profile of FIL’s investment solutions both internally and externally
Develop a deep understanding of Fidelity’s capabilities and investment process, together with the ability to communicate this both to colleagues and clients.
Develop an in-depth understanding of competitors and the industry; monitor for new trends and opportunities and identify growth opportunities in existing markets/channels as well as develop understanding of regulatory change and opportunities/challenges this may present for Fidelity
Follow a single global process, operating model and procedure
Experience and qualifications required
Experience in modelling and designing strategic asset allocations and custom solutions
A client and service focused mindset
Robust technical understanding of the drivers and benefits of a wide range of investment strategies and solutions
A grounding in portfolio theory and investment concepts
Extensive experience of the asset management industry, including an understanding of the investment, cost and regulatory factors affecting the investment needs of clients
Strong communication skills and an ability to empathise
Strong interpersonal skills, preferably with experience of working in a large team, and engagement with stakeholders
A strong commercial sense and desire to grow and expand Fidelity’s business
Strong presentation skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and to influence audiences in both small and large-scale forums
Highly collaborative approach and a team player
Proactive approach and a ‘can-do’ attitude to take ownership and resolve issues.
A passion for investing and a broad knowledge of current and historic market and asset class trends, levels and valuations
CFA or equivalent qualifications are preferred
