* Job Summary:
* We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented
* Cybersecurity Engineer
* with at least 3 years of experience and a strong background in federal cybersecurity standards. This role supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of security controls across federal IT systems, ensuring compliance with NIST, FISMA, and agency-specific requirements. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Implement and manage security controls in accordance with
* NIST SP 800-53
* RMF
* FISMA

* guidelines.
* Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation using tools such as
* ACAS
* Nessus
* , or
* Qualys
* Support system authorization and continuous monitoring activities, including development of
* System Security Plans (SSPs)
* POA&Ms
* , and
* Risk Assessments
* Collaborate with ISSOs, system owners, and developers to ensure secure system design and implementation.
* Monitor security events and respond to incidents using SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight).
* Assist in the development and enforcement of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards.
* Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
* Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and federal cybersecurity directives.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
* Minimum of
* 3 years of experience
* in cybersecurity, preferably supporting federal government systems.
* Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks and tools (e.g.,
* eMASS
* Xacta
* STIGs
* SCAP
* ).
* Experience with endpoint protection, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption technologies.
* Strong analytical and communication skills.
* Preferred Certifications:
* Must sit onsite in San Diego, CA
* Must hold an Active Security Clearance
* CISSP
* CEH
* CAP
* , or
* GSEC
* (preferred)
* ITIL Foundation
* or equivalent (optional)
