Who We Are

We’re Personified: a managed IT + cybersecurity services provider for campaigns, non-profits, and mission-aligned organizations. Our mission is to lead technology and security programs for our clients, enabling them to focus on their mission-critical work. We act as an extension of our client teams — we handle all the responsibilities a traditional internal IT team would. We’re in our clients’ Slacks, we’re on a first-name basis with them (and their pets), we’re new hires’ first point of contact, and we’re the first stop for tech and cybersecurity issues. We aim to build trust, and we leverage this to keep the bad actors out. Some of the biggest names in the progressive space have leaned on us as their trusted IT + cybersecurity partner. We are looking for top IT talent as we continue to scale our team.

About the Role

As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you’ll be a key executive partner to the CEO — helping shape and execute Personified’s strategic vision across IT services, infrastructure, and cybersecurity. The CTO will serve as the owner of technology at Personified, ensuring a high level of service delivery for clients as well as secure internal operations. You’ll oversee and grow a high-performing technical team, streamline project management and delivery, and ensure we meet the highest standards of service, security, and scalability. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader who thrives at the intersection of people, process, and technology. You’ll be both a hands-on operator and a strategic guide — able to manage MSP operations while also mentoring talent, guiding clients, and refining our systems to scale with purpose.

Responsibilities Overview:

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the CEO to define and execute Personified’s technical and cybersecurity roadmap.
  • Align our service offerings with client needs, industry trends, and mission-driven impact.
  • Represent and own Personified’s technology vision internally and externally.

Operational & Technical Oversight

  • Lead and scale day-to-day MSP operations including IT support, infrastructure, security, and cloud services.
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery to clients, with strong focus on responsiveness, reliability, and user experience.
  • Maintain and evolve our internal systems and tools to support efficient workflows and service quality.

People Management

  • Serve as the direct supervisor for service delivery teams, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative work environment

Project & Client Management

  • Oversee high-priority, cross-functional client projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Standardize and continuously improve project management methodologies across the org.
  • Act as a senior resource for client escalations, complex technical challenges, or sensitive engagements.

Security & Risk Management

  • Ensure clients’ systems meet high standards of cybersecurity, compliance, and data protection.
  • Support and strengthen Personified’s own internal security posture and risk mitigation strategies.

Process & Systems Improvement

  • Identify and implement tools, workflows, and processes that increase efficiency, reduce friction, and scale well.
  • Track key operational metrics to drive performance and client satisfaction.

Other executive duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in IT leadership, including direct oversight of MSP operations or internal IT functions servicing a large group of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams, with previous oversight of 5+ direct reports across cross-functional IT or technology-driven departments.
  • Skilled in strategic hiring, development planning, and performance management, including setting and aligning OKRs and KPIs to drive accountability, foster professional growth, and achieve measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong project management skills and experience overseeing complex, cross-functional technical projects.
  • Deep understanding of managed services delivery, IT operations, infrastructure, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead with empathy, coach emerging leaders, and build effective, resilient teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to guide clients and inspire internal teams alike.
  • Strategic thinking with a strong operational foundation —able to toggle between vision and execution.
  • Experience with project management and service delivery tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Zendesk, etc.).
  • Experience working with nonprofit, advocacy, or campaign clients is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, SOC 2, HIPAA, etc.) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; additional certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP) are a bonus.
